A discussion and working group for anyone interested in implementing mongoDB with Drupal.
Upgrade the module to php 5.4+ and the new php mongodb driver.
Hi Guys,
The present version of the mongodb module uses the older mongo driver (mongo.so) with the new one being "mongodb.so".
This driver is expects php5.4+ and is backwards compatible to previous versions of mongo: https://docs.mongodb.com/ecosystem/drivers/php/
With the release of php7 and mongo 3.2, I would like to propose that at least the 8.x branch be coded to use this driver. What's the best way to go about it? More importantly, what's the community's appetite for it? I have a background in programming (but am VERY rusty). I can help in any way you guys need.
Thoughts?
Read moreRedis/Mongo para traducciones
Hola,

With D8 I would love to see some cold hard stats benchmarks comparing mysql and mongodb storage backends for various profiles, eg vanilla D8, D8 with x content types and x nodes, or Drupal Commerce and Drupal Commons installs.
I have read some benchmarks on other mysql and mongodb projects, and I became uncertain if mongodb is really all that necessary.
I have read in many comparisons

Drupal Mongodb Integration
I want to use MongoDB with Drupal 7 for the speedup of performance.
Mongodb Module is enabled and how can I use a MongoDB in my Drupal website for any particular module. How can I integrate MongoDB for a specific module?
Seeking advice on D7 + Mongo Integration...
Am currently integrating Mongo DB with Drupal 7.23 (Spark Distro).
Seeking advice on what to watch out for, best practices, workflows, and even hosting.
If you have worked on a D7 + Mongo DB configuration, please help?
Thank you!

MongoDB is the industry-leading, NoSQL database. While Drupal 7 already allowed for some integration with MongoDB, you will now be able to run Drupal without any SQL in Drupal 8. Learn how a few seemingly unrelated initiatives played perfectly into this and how you can use Drupal with MongoDB.

After almost 11 months of work. Starting from square zero with never building a Drupal or using Drupal to a full site migrated off of a horrible CMS platform, my site went live last night at 2030EST!
We migrated 150,000+ users (with up to 10 security roles each), 1300+ blog posts, and 40,000+ comments!
The site is Drupal 7 and incorporates a slew of modules to include Drupal Commerce.

MongoDB Tutorial if you are using Replica Sets.
This tutorial builds on the tutorial located here. Refer

MongoDB supports what is called a Replica set. This differs slightly from the master/slave paridigmn where all transactions in a master/slave took place through the master - the slave served mostly as a hot spare.
