IRC Channel for NJ?
I thought that there was an IRC channel for NJ. But I couldn't seem to find it on freenode. And it is not listed here: http://drupal.org/irc/channels. So I created it.
But then it dawned on me that just as there is a specific IRC channel for Drupal NYC: #Drupal-nyc, we should consider having specific IRC channels for each Drupal group in NJ:
#drupal-nnj (for Northern NJ)
#drupal-cnj (for Central NJ)
#drupal-flemington

We have just recently moved the location of the Northern NJ Drupal Meetup from Panera Ramsey to Panera East Rutherford after a general consensus that the Rutherford area was convenient for most regular participants of the meetup.
kaw3939 is offering us the NJIT in Newark. A few people have expressed interest and cocogodiva has suggested a vote. Before we take a vote i suggest we discuss it.

I'm considering starting a South Bergen Drupal User Group or Meetup. We have people in Rutherford, Clifton, Garfield, Newark and other nearby towns. We could possibly meet at the Panera on 17 S in East Rutherford (parking would be easier). Not sure if there is a community room. But they do have wifi. Maybe we could meet the second Wednesday of the month?
Please give me feedback on this suggestion.

Setting the schedule for Drupal NYC Meetups
Hey all just want to post this here, and formally suggest that we move our Drupal NYC meetups to the 1st Wednesday of the month. This alleviates the issue of doing them every 4 weeks (which makes 13 yearly meetups with one month with 2 meetups, kind of not monthly meetups then). This is something that other meetup solutions tend to use, I am thinking of meetup.com, there you generally pick a week of the month and a day of the month to solve this issue.

NJ Themer's Play Day - Plans Afterward
NJ Themers Play Day 15 May 2010
Just a reminder to everyone: the first NJ Themers Play Day is coming up on 15 May 2010 in Rutherford from 12:15 pm to 4:00 pm
This will be like a BOF or a 'hack-a-thon'. People should come with questions and projects. It will be very unstructured with people just breaking out into smaller groups at different tables to work on theming 'stuff'.
I'm organizing this event along the lines of the NYC Themers Playdays. For example, summarizing the March 20 Playday Johnvsc had said:
First of all, seasoned pros, designers and devs, are truly encouraged to come and attack on a project like The Borg. Last time, Jen and Steven were jamming on Jen's core theme and they got a ton of work done. I am always in awe when I see developers work together ... and get things done. Really, I have found that artists have a hard time being so productive .
Second, alot of people came to the Play Day really wanting to hone up on skills. Lucia had a project ... a layout, it was a front page of a site and not a deep wireframe or site layout.
