NNJ Drupal Offsite

While we meet regularly onsite at NJIT, in order to maintain some momentum on our fledgling group project we had agreed to meet offsite in between our onsite meetings.

However, the day and time (and perhaps even the location) are in question.

So: What day would you like to meet?
What time would you like to meet?
Where would you like to meet?

It would be great to have some consensus by our next regular meeting.

Thanks,
Tom

This first offsite meeting will be held on IRC at #Drupal-NJ. If you do not have an IRC client you can go to http://webchat.freenode.net/

We should also considering these offsite meetings as an opportunity to meet F2F in other parts of Northern NJ; it can be our experimental

jQuery Update and jQuery UI Problem

I am having a trouble getting these to work on D6.

The basic problem is page load order. jQuery Update puts the updated jQuery library on the page AFTER the jQuery UI files.

I need the jQuery Library to be updated first, and the UI libraries to load second, but I cannot understand how to do this simple task.

I hope this was explained well.

Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

Many Thanks.

Thanks to all Who Attended the Northern NJ Drupal Playday

By all accounts the Northern NJ Playday was a tremendous success.

Special thanks to Keith Williams and NJIT our generous hosts.

Thanks to Ed Marsh for the cream cheese, Tom Sherlock for the Coffee, Lantz who made the signs, and I brought the bagels.

Also thanks to Peter Wolanin, and David Hernandez who came all the way from Central New Jersey to join us.

And thank you to every single one of you who attended. Much help was given and received and we are a better community for it.

I look forward to seeing all of you at our next event.

Come join Zivtech on the fifth of May at our offices in Old City for a Drupal MeetUp and Geekarific Cinco De Mayo Fiesta. Please suggest any ideas you have for topics to discuss below. We'll have pizza and beer, and feel free to bring your favorite drink and/or an awesome sombrero.

Zivtech is located at 32 S. Strawberry St., 2nd Floor. Here's a map: http://goo.gl/maps/twul .

Hope to see you there!

How is issue queue built?

Does anyone know how the Drupal issue queue is built? Does it use a single module? Or what modules does it use? I'm interested in building something like it and don't want to reinvent the wheel.

Help the NNJ Meetup by Nominating Modules to Upgrade from 6 to 7

Last night the NNJ Meetup Group voted to find modules that need to be upgraded from Drupal 6 to Drupal 7 and upgrade them. We are all scouring Drupal.org to find any and all of the modules that need a little love. We hope to lighten the load for module developers, make Drupal 7 more flexible and at the same time increase our own module development skills.

You can help us by simply telling us about modules that need upgrading,

You might want to go to the Coder Module page http://drupal.org/project/coder and do some reading. There are also pointers on the page to other modules that extend its capabilities.

April 13th Meetup Comments

I think last night was a seminal moment in the evolution of the NNJ meetup. We have been gathering steam over the past few months and have seen attendance rise. Last night however, we found a direction or mission if you will. While I think we will sharpen the focus as we go along, we have found our purpose, or as Tom put it to me earlier today we have gone from gestation to birth.

Central NJ Lunchtime Meetup anyone?

Making evening meetups is difficult for me; maybe for you, too. So I was thinking about lunchtime meetups, wondering if there would be any interest in the idea with the members of this group.

Anyone?
