Drupalcamp or Regional Summit
Hello,
I'm pleased to announce the date of July 29th 2011 for this year's Drupaldelphia event. We've reserved the same space that we used in 2010 at Alter Hall @Temple University. We will be announcing presenters as they commit, but we wanted to get the date out there so people could put it on their calendars. Drupaldelphia.com is in the process of being updated, this is where we will be announcing most of the updates.
- Doors will open at 8am, and the first sessions will start at 9am
- Breakfast and lunch will be provided
- More details to come

DrupalDelphia 2011!
Awesome! .. Can't wait!
Thanks for getting the space
Thanks for getting the space confirmed Chris! We received many positive responses about the venue from attendees at the last Drupaldelphia. I've already got some ideas about what presentations I want to see and potentially give, and I know a bunch of folks I'm going to invite to come out and learn and share. Also know a few people I'm going to hit up for sponsorship.
Once the site gets updated with the Drupal Conference Organizing Distribution I had promised to set up the presentation solicitations and voting section, so I'll get to work on that part.
Looking forward to it!
focus?
This sounds great and thanks for organizing. Curious - as posted into "Drupal for Education" - will this event have an education focus to it?

Also curious about an educational focus.

Made some updates
I've updated the group home page, the website home page and the Twitter feed with the new date.
Just wanted to keep you all in the loop :)
I put it in the Education
I put it in the Education group because there is a lot of interest in the Universities about Drupal because of their often time loosely federated needs for web development. Also, since it's at Temple, I thought I'd throw it in there.
BTOPRO you should do a session on your experience at Penn State. I did a session last year on Drupal in Higher Ed, not sure I'll do it again as I've moved to the dark side of for-profit endeavors.
I may do a session on JSON Centric architecture and how Drupal and services module fit into what we're doing here at Visibiz, Inc. http://www.visibiz.com

Wish I could
Wish I could but I notice that it conflicts with our Campus Technology award :. Maybe I can get some minions to go ;)

Is online registration for this event now open?
We're working on getting the
We're working on getting the website overhauled. I could enable sign ups here but they would be inconsequential as you would have to just re-register on http://www.drupaldelphia.com/ so that you were officially registered. Hang tight, its coming very soon.

Looking for Speakers?
Hey,
excited to hear about the next Drupaldelphia! Let me know if you're looking for speakers or if there's anything the folks here at Penn can do to help out.

sure
hi Bryan, not sure which you mean, but last year we showed EthosCE http://ethosce.com/ (focusing on continuing ed, but the drupal/moodle integration could be used for anything) - and it's come a long way since then. Working towards a community distribution atm. We could prob present that again at the camp this year
Definitely looking for speakers!
Justin, we're definitely looking for speakers. Do you know anything about security with Drupal? (ba dum bum)
We're hoping to have the website relaunched with a feature that lets people suggest topics and also indicate topics they're willing to speak on. As soon as that's up we'll send a reminder out and start looking for people to enter their topics there.
Very exciting. :)
Very exciting. :)
Drupal 7 Security
@Nathan Did you see I'm part of Drupal security now! http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/47915 (not really though :).
I have been fielding a lot of questions about Drupal 7 security recently and would be happy to give a presentation on security considerations in 7. Looking forward to Drupaldelphia so I'll keep an eye out for the opening of session suggestions and drop something there.

Fill the London Edu session survey
Just wanted to mention there's a survey here: http://groups.drupal.org/node/152964#comment-512264
even if you can't make it, filling out the (super short) survey would help show interest for this and future Drupal in Education events.
Keynote
I talked to Alex UA about speaker options and he mentioned:
Deb Moriarty
https://twitter.com/#!/debm11
I think she would be good considering her experience implementing drupal at the scale of whitehouse.gov.
Registration
If you click on the Registration link, it still says Drupal Camp Philadelphia, May 14, 2010 @ $20.
It hasn't been updated
As you'll notice it says on the home page, We're in the process of updating this website...
The new website has yet to be launched. Once it is, registration will be provided there.
Registration link taken down
I took down the registration link until the new site is launched.
If you were one of the 2 people who registered already using last year's form, no worries, we got ya.
Work to do?
Hi all, I missed the June meetup in the burbs, but is there a task list or something somewhere about ways to contribute to getting Drupaldelphia together? The proposed sessions list is looking a little sparse (I think? Maybe there is a queue or there hasn't been a big push yet?) I just realized we're a month out so wanted to check in. Thanks for any info!
