Abstract:
Over the past several years, the Penn State, College of Arts and Architecture’s, e-Learning Institute has standardized on Drupal as a platform for designing, developing, and deploying e-learning materials. The purpose of this presentation is to describe how and why we implemented Drupal as a solution to improve efficiencies in delivering e-learning materials for the College. Particular attention will be spent on the modules and custom themes used to develop and deliver courses.
Agenda
In this session, we will explain how we have integrated Drupal into our work flow to improve our design, development and delivery of e-learning materials. More specifically, we will:
* Introduce the business needs for utilizing Drupal in streamlining the course development process
* Present the modules used to improve the course creation process
* Provide examples of how themes are being used to improve efficiencies in rapid prototyping and course development
* Discuss the benefits of using Drupal to manage the College’s e-Learning Initiative
* Stimulate further discussion around enhancing Drupal as an e-learning platform
Goals
During this showcase, attendees will be exposed to how easily Drupal can be used to design, develop, and deploy e-learning materials.
