I'm curious if anybody has managed any kind of integration between PowerSchool and Drupal, or looked into it? I would be satisfied with read-only access to PowerSchool data on class assignments that could be displayed for an organic group. Is it possible to query PowerSchool's Oracle DB directly?

It may depend on the license you have
It wasn't for Drupal integration but two years ago I had full access to a Power School backend and found the tables easy to figure out. As long as I wasn't modifying their tables, the Power School folks were fine with this.
All that said, we had to purchase a license that allowed backend access. I don't know if it has changed since then. Just call the vendor. They were very easy to work with.

We're converting our Website & Intranet to Drupal and we've done some Powerschool Integration in the past. I'd like to get it to integrate with Parent users, teachers, students & then later to get the Assignment iCals worked out.
We'd be happy to partner with someone this summer to work on a Drupal-Powerschool User Integration Module, where it reads usernames from Powerschool and imports them into Drupal, perhaps with a default login.
Then later getting the gradebook feeds working for the user. Maybe by then the iCal feed parser will be working well.
Did you ever get anywhere with this?
We'd certainly be interested in helping out - we've had this come up with some schools we work with here at Schoolyard.
