Who

Calling all Austin Drupalers!

What

Austin Drupal User Group Monthly Meetup!

When

Wednesday, February 7th. 7-10 pm. As of Feb 1 '07, the poll to vote on your preferred day and time for the monthly Drupal meetup resulted in 21 total votes. Majority wins, so Wednesday, 7-10 pm it is.

Where

I received a few suggestions and am going with Dog and Duck for our February 7 meetup. I called them and was told they do allow free wireless Internet access but that folks need to BRING A CHARGED BATTERY FOR YOUR LAPTOP as they only have one spot to plug in an electrical cord. If your battery is low when you arrive at Dog and Duck, you and your laptop may be out of luck.

If you have a place in mind for our next meetup, please add your comment and include the venue name, address, phone number, and a URL, if available. Office/university space that works for about a dozen (12) folks is good as well, but we'll need an address, your cell phone number, and whether or not any special access is required.

Why

The Austin DUG wants YOUR participation and your fellow Drupalers want to meet you, make new friends/professional contacts, and learn about how you're using Drupal.

Feb. 7th @ 7pm sounds good to me.

I have two location suggestions:
1. Dog and Duck: 406 W 17th St, Austin, TX; (512) 479-0598; http://www.dogandduckpub.com/
2. Daught House: 4112 Medical Pkwy, Austin, TX; (512) 452-6258; http://www.draughthouse.com/ (not sure about wireless internet)

Draughthouse

I have been able to connect at the Draught House, but their connection isn't too hot. (Very slow, sometimes in and out) Great beer selection though! I've never been to the Dog and Duck, though I'm always up for new places. I often go to Spider House or Austin Java (on Lamar) when I want to get out of the house, and work for a bit.

Thanks for location suggestions...

...I'm leaning towards Dog and Duck esp. since Draught House is iffy on their wifi per Ryan's post.
