Sorry for introducing myself this way, I am new here a.k.a. the Noob... I have never used Drupal, I have built sites the Old fashion way and was informed by a lost friend that Drupal was the way to do it. I am really excited and would really love to learn how to set it up and get cracking at it. If anyone can please help me it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tone

You are not alone!
I've been tracking Drupal as well as other CMS offerings and would efforts to support new Drupal developers in Austin. All I've done is install version 5 and a few contributed modules, but would like to benefit from some hands-on instruction as well. I couldn't make it to the SXSW barcamp since my daughter was arriving for her spring break that evening. Is there a formal or informal training that could take place in Austin? I know Lullabot offers workshops in various cities.

Thanks and heres an idea.
I would like to know if anyone or a few could come out and help some of us Noobs. There are tons of places here in Austin to meet and alot of them have WiFi we can jump off. For Example most Public Libraries have free Wifi and have meeting rooms, there are community centers and Restaurants with meeting rooms. If anyone would like to help with that it would be greatly appreciated.
