Charity sprint ideas
I'm starting this post to discuss ideas for a one-day charity sprint.
To get the ball rolling, here's some reading material about recent similar events that I think we could emulate:

Edinburgh drinks this week
Hi all.
Another week has rolled by and as we said we'd try and keep these meetups going fortnightly, that means it's time to plan another drupal drinks!
How about Thursday?
I was thinking we could try the Abbotsford on Rose St this time?
(For a discussion of pubs to try, see here: http://groups.drupal.org/node/44612 -- the Canon's Gait last time was pretty good, but we figured we'd keep going through different pubs until we either find one we really like, or settle on a few we rotate between).

Best Text Editors for a MAC
Hi All,
In the process of migrating from PC Windows to Mac Snow Leopard. In the past have used Scite as my Text Editor but since I am starting afresh thought I would try something new.

Hello everyone!
What with the holidays and all that it's been a while since we met up for a drink and a natter. What say you all to a meetup one evening next week?
I've been asking around for suggestions of a pub we could use, the criteria being:
- not too noisy so we can talk
- not too busy so we can get a couple of tables
- does good bar food so those who want to get dinner can
- ideally, has wifi so we can succumb to the urge to hack or show off projects ;)
- does good beer!
Suggestions I've had:
- the Auld Hoose (on Pleasance)
- Canon's Gait (Royal Mile)
Opening up drupalscotland.org
Hi all,
I've started work on drupalscotland.org again after leaving it idle for too long due to other commitments.
Anyway, i've started tpo open up the site so that if you have blog site and wanted to share your blog post on drupalscotland.org (as in feed your blog). Then let me know and i can add it to the site. All you need to do is tag your post with something like 'drupalscotland' so any blog post you want with this tag will only appear in drupalscotland.org.

help with upgrading drupal
Is there anyone in the Edinburgh area that would be able to walk me through the upgrade process, I have read all the stuff about but dont feel confident at all in doing it on my own just yet, anyway if there is anybody out there who could help could you get in touch

Meetup with talks in January
I think I could get a venue for free (catering might cost app 10 quid and getting a projector could involve costs as well). Would you be interested in a weekend Drupalcamp in Edinburgh? I can offer a few talks about website building, and Joachim also indicated he would do so.
The venue is at the RAF clubhouse at London Road, and the meetup/camp would be organised by a small consultant shop there and myself.
If you are interested please tell what sort of subjects you would like to hear about.

I've been thinking that it might be worthwhile to make a website that has full step by step guides on how to replicate popular websites using Drupal.
Sites like istockphoto.com and ning.com might be interesting places to start.
Anyone else interested in this kind of project?

What would you people say to a meetup in Edinburgh on the first week of Dec? 3rd of Dec is the date, I am looking for venues. If you got a great idea, please don't hesitate.
This is by all means not an attempt to exclude non-Edin people, but frankly I don't really feel like taking a car and traveling an hour or more to somewhere else.
