This is a local user group for sharing knowledge about Drupal and networking with other folks in the greater Seattle web/tech community.
SeaDUG meets monthly to talk about Drupal, to plan related events, and to socialize. During SeaDUG meetings we showcase modules and projects, share tips and tricks, and answer nagging questions about Drupal.
We welcome participants from all skill levels and all disciplines related to website building and development - marketers, project managers, developers, designers, writers, devops, user researchers, QA, and more.
Stay in Touch
- Join the SeaDUG Slack workspace to chat regularly with other SeaDUG community members.
- Follow us on LinkedIn for more frequent news and Drupal-related content sharing.
Jobs
PLEASE do not post job offers in this group unless they are local to Seattle, or remote and open to people who live in Seattle. Any job posted to this group that is not in the Seattle/Puget Sound Metropolitan Area or open to its residents will be promptly removed.

SEA -> ORD tickets just dropped to $329 on Alaska...
I just booked SEA -> ORD on Mar 7 at 12:45pm (arrives 6:49pm) and ORD -> SEA on Mar 11 at 3:30pm (arrives 6:03pm), but there are earlier and later departing flights as well as earlier returning flights for the same price.
Just in case you're heading to DrupalCon and were kicking yourself for not catching lower airfares earlier in the month!

Hi Seattle Drupalers! Chach and I are doing this thing called Code for America (some of my thoughts on the program). This means we will be in Seattle for all of February! And we are both very much into meeting other Drupalers face to face. And just maybe you can help us out with Code for America somehow. So, a few questions and thoughts.

Hear of a 'good deal' on flights from Seattle to DrupalCon 2011? Let us know!
There have been a number of discussions regarding flights to Chicago for DrupalCon 2011. I thought I'd start a thread where people could post found 'deals' so that those of us, who have yet to make arrangements, might also be able to save a buck.

January TacDug Meeting.
Come in out of the cold this Thursday.
Tacoma area Drupalers will be meeting at Cozy Parkway Tavern this Thursday, January 6th at 6pm.
Come discuss Drupal 7, your crazy clients, or what modules or theme's your going to write this year.
After choosing from one of the Parkway's 33 taps, we usually hang out in the "red room".
Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

It appears that, as of today, the cheapest round-trip flights from Seattle to Chicago are $361. That's according to Kayak, Expedia, Priceline, etc. I have a companion fare ticket on Alaska Airlines that would bring the price down to $245 per person. Is anyone interested in joining me on this deal? I'd like to purchase the tickets today.
Here are the details, though I'm a bit flexible on times.
Alaska Airlines 22 (nonstop)
Monday, March 7
Leave Seattle (SEA): 12:45 pm
Arrive Chicago-O'Hare (ORD): 6:49 pm
Alaska Airlines 23 (nonstop)

What's Seattle Drupal Dojo?
Call it a hack night or whatever, Seattle Drupal Dojo is a weekly opportunity to get together with other folks in the local Drupal community. Bring your problems, bring your solutions, bring your laptop.
The word Dojo (道場) captures what we're trying to create -- a place to practice and master one's art. Think of it as a place to become a Drupal blackbelt, a Drupal Ninja.
What to do in a local Dojo?
- Work together on personal projects or troubleshoot Drupal issues
Better meetings?
We had a short chat in the Drupal-Seattle IRC channel** on Friday about the monthly SeaDUG meetings. Someone had commented in IRC that the meeting the day before was great, and I wrote back that I wasn't sure it was great for everyone (newcomers to Drupal, experienced Drupalers, newcomers to Seattle, people new to Seattle, and everything in between).

Hey all,
I just realized today that I had not spread the word about this to any of the local Drupalers. Roya and I are having a casual going away get-together at The Sitting Room in Queen Anne tomorrow night between 7:00 and midnight. We have an area reserved, and people will be dropping in throughout the night. Please feel free to come by if you like for one last skål! The Sitting Room is at 108 West Roy Street.
