This is a local user group for sharing knowledge about Drupal and networking with other folks in the greater Seattle web/tech community.
SeaDUG meets monthly to talk about Drupal, to plan related events, and to socialize. During SeaDUG meetings we showcase modules and projects, share tips and tricks, and answer nagging questions about Drupal.
We welcome participants from all skill levels and all disciplines related to website building and development - marketers, project managers, developers, designers, writers, devops, user researchers, QA, and more.
Stay in Touch
- Join the SeaDUG Slack workspace to chat regularly with other SeaDUG community members.
- Follow us on LinkedIn for more frequent news and Drupal-related content sharing.
Jobs
PLEASE do not post job offers in this group unless they are local to Seattle, or remote and open to people who live in Seattle. Any job posted to this group that is not in the Seattle/Puget Sound Metropolitan Area or open to its residents will be promptly removed.

Drupal 7 Code Sprint
CHX will be in Seattle July 25-26 and has expressed interested in having a code sprint here to crank on the D7 criticals queue and port modules to D7. Is anyone interested in this? While this event will probably be pretty code-centric, I think it would be an excellent introduction for people who are curious and interested in how to get more involved in the Drupal community. If Jennifer can make it, I'm sure she would be up for some documentation queue wrangling and we can make sure there is stuff for all skill levels to do.

Hey, everyone. I've mentioned this idea about traveling to the Pacific Northwest Drupal Summit to a few SeaDUG members and it's been well received, so I'll throw it out to the group.

Greetings Drupal Community!
It’s exciting times for Drupal in the Pacific Northwest. Planning for the October 2010 Pacific Northwest Drupal Summit in Vancouver, Canada is progressing nicely. Want to find out more, keep on reading!
Background
The process started in earnest last year with a call for participation. From there we established an Organizing Committee and starting laying down the foundation for the conference. Although I was the one that kicked things off I’m extremely pleased to announce that Vanessa Turke of ImageX Media took on the role of Organizing Committee chair and is doing a wonderful job. The Organizing Committee would also like to acknowledge the support we’re getting from last year’s Seattle organizing committee.

After discussing with various WWU and #drupal-seattle folk, we've decided to kick off the Bellingham Drupal Users Group or.. bhamDug. or something to that effect. I know quite a few drupalists who can't really commute to Seattle or Vancouver, and much like the Bellingham Linux Users Group, there is a thriving community around here.
So if you live in Skagit or Whatcom Counties, or just wanna hear whats going on up here, join up on the new bellingham group:

Combining PNW IRC channels
Hey everybody!
So currently there are three Drupal channels for Pacific Northwest cities - #drupal-portland, #drupal-seattle and #drupal-vancouver. Right now there is a lot of overlap between these channels - people who hang out in two or three, but a lot of the time the individual channels are pretty dead. Additionally, since the Drupal Summit last year, there seems to be more of a broad community feeling between all the groups than there has in the past. So I was thinking maybe we should just do away with the three channels and form a new #drupal-pnw channel. It would bring more of us together and for many remove the need to join two or three channels individually. Local-only discussions could still happen on the groups, as it does already really.

Seattle CiviCRM User Group Meeting May 27th At Office Nomads
There seems to be growing interest in CiviCRM in Seattle. People want to know more about what it is, how it works and how they can harness the power for their clients or their own organizations. Recently at DrupalCon in San Francisco I ran a training on CiviCRM that was attended by a fellow Seattlite, and in the weeks just before that I was introduced to a few other folks in Seattle using CiviCRM. So it seems like it is time.

not sure if I should look in the php code or in the Drupal content interface to make the link change..

I am working on an application and have hit a road block. I posted for help in the main Drupal support area but with similar posts from others going unanswered, I'd like to look for hands on help locally. The original post is here:
If there's a quick answer, I would greatly appreciate it. If custom development is required, then I'd like to find a Drupal expert who can validate or help with my design approach, give a reliable estimate, and create the missing piece.

As one who would love to attend the DUG meeting each month, but inevitably has a conflict of one sort or another limiting my attendance, I'd be very interested in exploring the potential of a virtual meeting--similar to what other local drupal communities are doing see Drupal Dojos, Hack Nights, and Cafés in your community
Perhaps we could experiment with extending the live event to include virtual participation or perhaps we could pull together short virtual lunchtime or evening events. Has the Seattle DUG done anything like this in the past?
