Genealogy with views and cck (and RDF?)
In http://drupal.org/node/395586 I suggest a way to create genealogies via cck and views. I am working on implementing it on a drupal site, but wondered if there is any input these groups can provide me with:
I would like to add that I plan on primarily using prepopulate in creating links for this, but I can see that some stuff will need some module code in order to be user friendly.

Here's an SEO issue with the Views module. I haven't found a solution yet.
Default views in the Views 2 Module have an SEO issue. They don't send 404 errors when a non-existent URL is requested.
For example, if your view is located at
example.com/articles
and your page is at:
example.com/articles/my-page
but you accidentally link to:
example.com/articles/mypage
Drupal sends a "200 OK" header and the content from:
example.com/articles
instead of sending a 404 header/page.
Read moreIs it possible to have a single filter on multiple fields?
I have a content type A, that has let's say the following fields:
A->title
A->name
A->place_of_birth
I also have a taxonomy enabled for that content type (let's say called "Category")
Is it possible to build a view with a SINGLE exposed filter that will return all nodes that contain the search string either in the title, or in the name, or in the place_of_birth or in the category?

Hey there.
I'm working on building a drupal six uber-cart store. It's been a fun adventure thus far.
Anyways, I'm working on building a basic store "foundation" that I can sort of use to build into any other store. I'm setting up some views blocks which display all the brands the store carries (a view), the latest products to add to the store, and the most popular items (based on views). That's all easy and works fine.
I'm having a bit more of an issue working on creating a view that displays the "product" vocabulary like this:

Help shape a Content Types and Views book
I am currently in the very beginning stages of writing a book on Drupal Content Types that will focus on Core, CCK, and Views. I have a first draft of the outline that I am working on. I would love to get community feedback to help shape the book at this very early stage.

TAC and Views RSS
I have a situation to which I have developed a couple of solutions. However, colleagues believe that we are still missing something. I could use any input the community can share.
Plaftform: Drupal 5.14
Data Structure
- We have a large amount of published nodes in the form of news articles, reports, etc.
- Registered users purchase subscriptions and are given access to view the full body of certain nodes depending on what they have subscribed to. This is controlled through TAC.
"Drupal Calendar Display Engine (DCDE)": Something like the idea of Themes but just for Calendars plus other features.
NOTE: This idea is strictly about displaying calendar data, not managing or storing such data.
Create a comprehensive calendar display module with the following features:
-
Allow for multiple calendar feeds of different types to create a merged calendar display output.
a. auto sort and arrange multiple events within each day-cell. Include features to deal with conflicts in multiple calendar feeds. Include features to deal with event displays overflowing a given day-cell.
Node Reference selection widget
I have just published a new module which might be of interest to some of you:
http://drupal.org/project/nodereference_views_select
From the project page:
Read moreProvides a widget for Node Reference which displays the node teasers instead of a select box, and allows choosing the referenced nodes
from a Modal panel. The list is optionally sortable, depending on JQuery UI Sortables. The modal supports pagination, exposed filters
and exposed sorting, all using AJAX.
Views – the basics and a bit more (screencast)
(My previous post mysteriously disappeared. Pardon if this becomes a double post.)
I've just ported my Swedish introduction to Views to English! It can be viewed at blip.tv or downloaded from tr.im/drupal.
The screencast is a step-by-step guide into Views (for Drupal 6, of course), covering the following:
* Download and installation
* Creating a simple list page + the basic settings
* Creating a table
* The point of grouping fields
* Creating and enabling a Views block
