Want to Upgrade from 1.6 to 2.0
I keep hearing that there will be instructions, but where are they?
I need a) instructions from 1.6 to 1.7
and b) then instructions from 1.7 to 2.0
Do the developers have any desire to help us move forward? We all don't have blogs that we can scrap and start over with every two months.
For OP to work, we need to be able to upgrade from version to version.
Can not install OP, stop at step #2
Hi,

Requirements problem
The following errors must be resolved before you can continue the installation process:
* The OpenPublish installer requires that you create a settings file as part of the installation process.
1. Copy the ./sites/default/default.settings.php file to ./sites/default/settings.php.
2. Change file permissions so that it is writable by the web server. If you are unsure how to grant file permissions, please consult the on-line handbook.

Now that I've managed to convert my old site to OP I want to change the URL from beta.site.com to site.com. I tried, but got a lots of warnings.
* warning: include_once(op_article.features.inc) [function.include-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /www/dev.nishorga.com/sites/all/modules/openpublish_features/op_article/op_article.module on line 3.
Error Warning Message after update
Hi,
I updated to OpenPublish 1.7.1, everything went fine, but I keep seeing on every pages the following message:
warning: preg_match() expects parameter 2 to be string, array given in
/public_html/includes/bootstrap.inc on line 777
These are the lines from bootstrap.inc:
function drupal_validate_utf8($text) {
if (strlen($text) == 0) {
return TRUE;
}
return (preg_match('/^./us', $text) == 1);
}
Also the Featured Articles title on the frontpage appears twice, one under the other.
Than you for the help.
Read moreDate translation in openpublish
May be this question is not directly related to openpublish, but since I am considering to use OP for a non-english site, I am posting it here.
If I want to translate the date (months, numerals), do I need to hack the template files or there is any other way around. I know a little bit of php (through trial and error and by looking at existing php file). I tried to translate the months (Jan, Feb... etc) via translation module, but that does not translate the roman numerals.

It may be due to changes that were done on Godaddy servers but in essence, the new version of openpublish (1.7.0) will not install normally on Godaddy.
The reason I say it may be due to changes was that I originally was able to install OP 1.6.* without making any changes to php.ini but an an attempt to upgrade to the new version led to some issues:
OpenPublish 1.7 Released
OpenPublish 1.7 has been released and can now be downloaded from: http://bit.ly/getop
There are many changes (listed below in more detail) compared to OP 1.6. We spent a lot of time thoroughly testing and documenting 1.6 to 1.7 update instructions: http://openpublishapp.com/download/op-1dot6-1dot7-update-instructions so we hope the update will be relatively painless for existing OP users.
