Lesson #24 - Theming Views output
This week, EclipseGc will be demonstrating how to theme a Views table. Views is already a must-have module for almost any Drupal site, but knowing how to extend and theme it will really allow you to 'kick it up a notch', if you will.
Please note that this is a Saturday lesson. Shaking things up a bit!

Lesson #20 - Adobe Flex within Drupal
Tomorrow FFH is doing his lesson on mixing Drupal and Flash -but we will not be using Skype this weekend. As Skypecasts have proven incompatible with anything except the windows platform, we're moving to Teamspeak - for tomorrow, you will need the teamspeak client.
To connect, simply go to [teamspeak://webavant.com:8768] and compatible browsers will connect automatically (Note: you need to have a teamspeak client installed for this to work). Anonymous users will have to specifically request voice rights from the menu.
To connect manually on windows, click Connection -> connect from the menu, and make your settings match this image, filling in your own nickname where appropriate.
Alternately, you might want to take a look at Teamspeak's connection tutorial to connect manually.
On Mac, simply follow dmitrig01's video http://dmitrizone.com/dump/teamspeak_for_mac.mov
There he gives instructions on both installing and connecting to the server.
Mac users cannot host skypecasts any longer
I've just gotten a rather bad message from Skype customer service. Here's the abbreviated transcription:
ME "I'm trying to host a Skypecast and nobody, including myself, can stay connected for more than 30 seconds. More like 26 or 27 sec each time."

Check out this practical lesson I have put together, born out of a client's need, which I though others might benefit from seeing.

The Dojo 'Upcoming Lesson' Schedule
Hey, folks. This is just a quicky-wiki to list what the upcoming topics are. As always, many thanks to our brave sensei volunteers!
Teachers, Please feel free to add your name, topic, and your available date. We don't always have lessons on Sundays, and we would encourage you to schedule something midweek, at night, or anytime that's comfortable in your part of the world. The http://drupaldojo.com site has been converted to world-time. Yeah, we're just like that. Remember to create an Event node for your lesson here on the drupal-dojo group so we can see your grinning face next to the post! Then, you'll want to read the instructions on becoming a dojo sensei.

This Sunday, we'll have an informal session where Summer of Code mentors and students are welcome to come by, introduce themselves, and ask any questions they need answered before the big kick-off on Monday. Anyone is welcome to join in and listen or help answer questions, but please note that the this session is specifically geared toward getting our GSoCers up to speed.

This Sunday at 11am PDT / 2pm EDT / 8pm CET, Drupal Dojo regular Sam Tressler will take the teacher's position and walk through creating custom CCK fields. This is a replay of last week's lesson, which turned out to be an impromptu group collaboration on setting up a localhost sandbox. ;)
CCK, is the future and all, but how do we make fields do what we want them to? I mean, its no good to have an input field without validation and formatting options, is it? How does this stuff 'magically' show up in views?
Never fear, its all there, and we can go through it all step by step.
Check out the lesson plan wiki page, and join us on Sunday in the dojo!

UPDATE: Raw Screencast Is Up! | Torrent file here
This Easter Sunday josh_k returns to the teachers spot in the Drupal Dojo to "resurrect" the lost jQuery lesson.
We'll be retracing our steps, and also forging ahead into new territory. Our mission? To show how easy it is to take your Drupal site to the cutting edge of User Interface with jQuery, talk about the tools and resources that make this easy, and outline some best-practices for security.
Oh, and get it all on video this time. Join us if you like at our usual time: 11am PDT / 2PM PDT / 8pm CET.
