Facebook Project Creation, Code, and Maintainers
James Andres has been working on Drupal modules for integration of the Facebook API client and a module that would allow easy creation of Facebook apps using Drupal. My name is Séamus
O'Connor and I am working with James to get these properly released onto Drupal.org.
Here is a short list (in no particular order) of what we would like
to accomplish, and help in doing so would be greatly appreciated.
1) Right now the current codebase is in James' sandbox CVS area. We
would like to get a 'Facebook' project created that could house the
modules that James created.
Malaysianspace.com - a good idea, now gone; Proposal for Malaysian/SouthEastAsian Friendster Facebook MySpace
Wow long title and long list of tags :)
I checked out MalaysianSpace.com today and it was not renewed; it was owned by MENJ and it used the `Handshake' SNS software.
Whereas MuslimSpace.com uses the PHP-Fox software
Cyworld is advanced SNS (you can try the English version http://us.cyworld.com)
Habbo Hotel, Gaia Online, are for younger teens and kids
Cyworld/Habbo/Gaia earn money by `micro transactions' - kids pay around 30 cents - these SNS earned millions in profits
My proposal is:

p>What if a Drupal developer could easily develop Facebook apps the "Drupal way" without having to learn the "Facebook way"? What if Drupal site admins could easily integrate their Drupal sites into Facebook?

Saying there was excitement when FaceBook made an API available for developers is like saying it rains in Vancouver. But here's something you might not know. The folks who created Project Opus have also created a Project Opus MP3 player for FaceBook that's powered by Drupal - and they're talking!!!
Join us Thursday August 30th as David Gratton, Ross Howard-Jones and James Andres from the Donat Group do an encore of their Vancouver BarCamp presentation on the FaceBook MP3 player powered by Drupal.
As always, there will be a Question and Answer session for questions on anything Drupal and a chance to tell the group about any cool stuff you've been working on.
Date: Thursday August 30th, 6:30pm
Location: Bryght Offices, 1 Alexander Street, Suite 400 in Gastown. [Map] (Details below).
For those who don't need to leave right away there's typically a more social discussion at a local pub afterwards.
Read more"Share This On..." For Drupal Sites?
I think it would be great if Drupal had a "Share on " feature like Facebook's share.php. Many sites have a "Share on Facebook" button, but there is also a link you can bookmark so you can share any page you visit on the web.
Drupal's aggregator module already has the ability to blog any individual news item that you subscribe to on your Drupal site by clicking "Blog It". But how would a similar button work that you can use on external sites, and also bookmark in your browser?
Any thoughts or work already being done on this?

Hello Facebook Developers,
To speed the development of a Facebook App we've been working on our team has developed a Facebook "Development Framework" (I use the term very loosely) for Drupal. We're guessing this module would be useful for some Drupal developers, so we've been trying to keep it general.
Before we go any further it would be very helpful to get some feedback from the community. Here's a few questions we've got...

Facebook Auth Module
Noticed that the other one .. well doesn't support the new platform in the slightest, therefore doesn't work.
Whipped up a new version using the standard library.
I have yet to decide if i'm going to try and push to get this to replace the current code, or setup a new module, but in the mean time, i have a early release up @ http://www.kodekoan.com/files/facebook_auth.tgz which someone might be interested in.
Added its own new project. http://drupal.org/project/facebook_auth

NewsCloud made a very interesting little Facebook app, and they released the source of the Facebook part of their application. Looks easy enough, perhaps a starting point to look at for some ideas.
