DRUSH Update Question
Hi Chris,
Love the DRUSH tool!
I have been using it as much as I can and each time am finding new things and ways to take advantage of it.
I have a question - concerning the update and updatecode functions. I didn't see any detailed docs on recommended usage on this and was wondering if you or anyone else that is more knowledgeable on it, could show us the proper way to use these functions?
For example do we put the site in maintenance mode, disable modules prior to update, etc.
Thanks so much!
Tim

Presentation on managing Drupal projects with Git and GitHub
I just thought I post a little information about a presentation I am going to be giving at the October meetup. At the last meetup, I was asked if I would mind giving a presentation on the use of GitHub in managing Drupal projects. We have pretty much switched all of our development versioning to Git at CollectiveColors.com, because it has shown to have significant benefits in our own development processes.
Git makes it easier for us because:
- It allows us to better collaboratively develop our software while minimizing the impact of code conflicts.
- Allows us to easily track what we have developed.
- Branching and merging of repositories is a breeze.
- It is very easy to turn any directory tree into a Git repository.
- Git submodules are perfect for Drupal development.
We have learned a lot of really cool methods for managing software projects using Git and GitHub, so we figured that we would share some of what we have learned in our journey so far. Although, I have a rough outline of what I want to talk about during this presentation, I am open to hearing your suggestions, after all I'm not presenting to myself.
So what I am thinking so far? ...

Read moreExport/import content with Features
Hi all,
I’m planning to contribute a module which will offer nodes import export capabilities for features, let me know what you think about it, if it makes sense to have something like this etc...
Here its description:
Features Content
The module enables Features to export/import nodes objects (along with their files, menu items and CCK fields) in a feature package. For each feature it is possible to decide which node to export (based on its NID, type, etc...) and if to keep its NID or to recreate it from scratch to the next feature import/update. For the moment authorship export is not supported: all the imported nodes will inherit a common user UID (configurable) if their own is not present in the system.
