Drush & Drush Make on Mac- How to setup and use 'Drush Make'?

Hi everyone

Another question for anyone out there that understands 'Drush Make'.

I have Drush setup (Mac OSX) and am pretty competent in using it. The issue I now have is that I'm a little unsure as to how to get 'Drush Make' working which I require to save time on Drupal site setups. I've looked for videos etc (this is the way that I managed to get Drush running correctly) but have been unable to find a good example that I understand.

Does anyone know of an absolute idiot proof tutorial or perhaps can post an easy to follow guide?

Any help will be much appreciated

Thank you

A new drush command to generate apache VirtualHost configurations

Hello all,

Just wanted to let you know that I've pushed a new drush command to this github repository.

What it does is generating a VirtualHost section for the Apache configuration, which allows you to easily add new virtual hosts to your system.

It saves me some time, hope you'll find it useful too.

Thanks for your attention, looking forward for comments and suggestions.

Help w/ Drush

So from the discussions in the EduBoF @ Drupalcon, I came back and began playing with Drush. My first attempt was successful and easy to implement. I was able to perform updates on 3 seperate drupal installs (Drupal6, Drupal7, and OpenAtrium) running on my Ubuntu laptop.

However, I decided I would then begin playing with Drush on my development Intranet site (running CentOS). Well, somehow after getting Drush to run (I had to change some php.ini settings), I jacked up my site. I've tried poking around the web looking for some direction but haven't gotten anywhere as of yet.

A Drush Tutorial that's not a webcast

First of all, apologies if this ends up cross-posted.

In case anyone is interested, I've been looking for ages for a nice, simple introduction to Drush that doesn't involve downloading an enormous video file, i.e. something that would work in Instapaper. Eventually I gave up and wrote my own, and I've been using it to educate colleagues who haven't quite understood what Drush can do yet.

You can find the article at: http://www.opc.com.au/web-development/introduction-drush-drupal-power-tool

Comments and feedback welcome - especially if something is misleading or incorrect.

Drush - why did I ignore it for so long?

I have read lots of posts and listened to plenty of conversations about drush but just kept putting off checking it out for myself. If that sounds like you then visit here http://drupal.org/project/drush and here http://drupal.org/node/477684 and try it out, even if you have just one drupal site.

Problem with Drush

I'm having a problem getting Drush to work on my PC, I uninstalled XAMPP and installed WAMP following the instructions in this video http://vimeo.com/15371661 I pretty much paused the video and went and did the steps shown. WAMP is up and running and if I type in Drush at the command prompt it does give the commands to use but when I type in the command to down load & install drupal-6.xx or 7.0 I get the following error "wget nor curl executables found". Per the video I have the following installed from GnuWin32 Wget, Tar, LibArchive, Gzip, BSDTar. I'm running windows 7 professional.
