Creating a site map?
Any suggestions on how to create a site map? I tried the Site Map module and didn't like it; it doesn't offer as much functionality as I'd like. It's fine for creating taxonomy lists -- but left out are all the pages and sections that aren't tied to taxonomy terms. Not to mention, I"d like to be able to rename some of the category headings (what our back-end interface calls them and what I want an end user to see might be two different things).

It's gotten to the point I've realized I should stop mucking around with features on our live site and create a stage or development site.
This seems tricky with a newspaper, though, because if you work on the stage for a week and then just move it live, you're wiping out a week's worth of uploaded content.
What are you using for moving features, etc from stage to production?

I'm looking at a couple of different pay models for our online news venture. The most intriguing is metered access where each user is allowed access to a certain number of articles before they have to subscribe.
I'm leaning toward using Ubercart but was wondering if there was an easy way to set this up. Perhaps there's a module that tracks how many times specific CCK content types are viewed by each user before kicking it over to the subscription page.
Tall order, I know but many thanks in advance for your insight.
Read moreFormat time as a.m./p.m. instead of am/pm?
I am designing a test site in ProsePoint, and I would like for times to display as a.m. and p.m. instead of the PHP default of am and pm.
I did some research online about this a few weeks ago, and I stumbled across some script or bit of freeware that someone had written for just such a purpose ... but now I can't find it again.
And even if I did ... I'm not quite sure where in the ProsePoint/Drupal installation I might need to put it in order for it to work.
Any ideas or suggestions?
Read moreA way to port complex forms from HTML to Drupal?
I've spent the last few weeks working on a test site (hosted on my own personal account) to create forms in HTML (with a little PHP add-on in the background to handle emailing the info) for the newspaper where I work. Here's one example: http://forms.polestarstudios.com/adult_birthday.html
But I've also been lobbying for us to switch our site over to Drupal (or a Drupal-based avenue such as OpenPublish or ProsePoint) for weeks.
Today, I got the go-ahead (finally) to redesign our site in Drupal; I'll get the details on Monday.

I have about a years experience using Drupal now on a college newspaper site...we have pretty much 'mastered' the basics for the site and are now looking at moving into some more dynamic, engaging content on the site.
Read moreBest module for administering comments?
What are the modules you use to administer comments (aka, remove offensive comments) on your sites?
We've been using the Flag module. It meets our needs, but I don't like that I can't have a view of all the users' offending comments. I want an admin interface that gives me in the information to say "I banned you because of x,y and z."
I thought this would be a big topic for the Newspapers on Drupal group but I couldn't find much mention of administrating comments.
Read moreCreate a template file for an article node
Hello,
I’m new to Drupal and I am curious if anyone can explain the best way to create a custom template for an “article” node so that an image with caption floats to the top left of a text area.
My goal is to make this an intuitive process for users, and not require them to do any sort of HTML editing.
Thanks in a advance for any suggestions!
