Creating a Simple Photo Slideshow in Drupal
Drupal has taken it pretty hard regarding its image handling abilities. I won't say that it's not warranted. Drupal 7 has really made some improvements to image handling. The instructions here are for building a simple photo slideshow in Drupal 6. The process would be different (read "easier") in Drupal 7.

In my endeavor to convert a photo slideshow from one site to another I ran into a dilemma.
What is the best practice for slideshow delivery?
I ask this because it was drilled into us (students) about being web tidy, best practices, contributing to make the web and servers as green as possible. Not to mention shooting for an ultra-light site for fast delivery and higher possible rankings on search engines.
The two contenders (maybe more?) are:
1) Using one or more of the modules in Drupal (which is best, fastest and easiest to implement and for client side updating)?

Slideshow in OP is not working. Images does not show up in slide show. I don't know the reason for this, but when I go to views it shows that a custom CSS is used to display the slideshow which is actually not found in the location mentioned.
In the admin/build/views/edit/image_gallery_images, a path to CSS file as mentioned in OP 2.0
sites/all/themes/openpublish_theme/css/slideshow.css is actually not found in the theme's css folder.
Is that the reason why slideshow not working?

I have been experimenting with some of the rotator and slideshow modules and I am still a little puzzled how to proceed. I am basically trying to replicate the functionality of the "slider" element from the New York Times (see the bottom of page "Inside NYTIMES.COM" where there is typically the section, an image (but not always) and then the article title. There is an arrow pager on the upper-right side of the slider.

What is the best way to create an inline slideshow of images like the one they usually put on the first page and some articles on the http://www.nytimes.com site?
Required features:
1) The slideshow must be a view - for flexibility and easy placement in a node's body. The list of images must be derived from the view naturaly.
2) The slideshow must have some sort of controls: 1, 2, 3... links or "previous"/"next", etc. There must be some sort of manual control. This I think excludes the Views Slideshow module for the moment, since manual controls are not implemented there yet.
multi image cck fält
Hej,
Jag har letat väldigt mycket för att hitta en bra lösning på det jag vill göra, har hittat mycket som är i närheten men inte precis det jag söker.
Jag kör Drupal 6
Egentligen är det ganska enkelt:

An Override for theme_slideshow
Just wanted to share a quick theme override that others might find useful.
For a group blog site we've been building (http://www.newamerica.net/blog), the Slideshow module is a great way to give users an easy way to drop images into their posts. The only problem was that, more often than not, someone would decide to post only one image -- which results in an unnecessary header of "Previous | Image 1 of 1 | Next".
