Community Cultivation Grants

The Drupal Association recently announced the Drupal Community Cultivation Grants - a new program designed to provide financial support to Drupal event organizers.

While full details are available at the link above, I wanted to make sure this group knew about the program - please spread the word to aspiring event organizers. Raising the initial funds can often be a large hurdle - this program aims to lower the barrier of entry for organizers.

Demographics Group Type

As I am new to Drupal and while looking for groups to help me learn and find contributions for my particular needs I was surprised to find no "Demographic" Group Type. Of the five types that do exist Geographic, Event Planning, Archive, Distribution and Working Group - none work serve Demographic based websites or development.

8 week intensive online course in mastering Drupal: Two new dates available.

Two more sessions are available for the 8-week intensive online course on mastering Drupal. The course that is currently running did sell out.

These are live online classes, three hours a week (plus additional assignments and videos, a sandbox, and an online learning community for participants. ) You can develop your own site (in Drupal 6 or 7) as part of the course.

One course runs Tuesdays at 8pm EST starting May 3rd. The other is on Wednesdays, 2pm EST, starting May 4th.

Media is a module which has been in development for several years. The goal is to provide a light Digital Asset Management solution for Drupal. This means fields on files, interfaces for browsing and embedding files and the ability to reference media all over the internet.
