Content Creators Group -- How to get published?
I submitted a new group "Content Creators" and really want to get others involved. But I'm not sure how to get it out of the moderation queue. Is there something else I need to be doing? I don't want to post too much content until users can see it. Oddly, a few others have been able to join with it still being in moderation.
Thank you for any help.

service offers on g.d.o
There is now a sales offer in http://groups.drupal.org/node/16211 that is listed as a job. I'm not sure how to react. On the one hand, that just seems like an inappropriate use of the job content type. On the other, why not let people advertise their services in some way? Perhaps we need a new "services offered" content type and view.
The main drawback to that in my opinion would be that it could easily become a firehose of spam.
Read morefeedback mechanism for moderation queue
getting feedback from users whose groups are in moderation has not been very efficient - and probably casued frustration for people in the queue.
We probably need a little thought as to best make this functionality work. Discuss here: http://drupal.org/node/319073

I just noticed (while being subscribed to the jobs tag) that the following node appear in the feed...
http://groups.drupal.org/node/15126
The ad in question reads very much like they want a female programmer which under the circumstances of the role could be deemed "fair enough".... However (I believe this is true at least for the UK) you are not allowed to advertise jobs this way. Hypothetically if I, as a male, were to apply for the job and be turned down I could then take up legal challenge that it was because I am male and not female - ie, sex desxrimination.

Hello,
I submitted a group for approval the other day (Perth, Western Australia) but I did not receive an email from g.d.o regarding the application. I haven't yet heard back from a site maintainer so I am wondering if something went wrong during my application or if it is still in the moderation que.
Kind regards
Alex Cochrane

Read moreThis 'robinfly' user might be a spammer in disguise
There's a new, five-day-old user named 'robinfly' on the g.d.o. site(s) that appears to be making one me-too post every day that doesn't really do anything for any group, except provide a set of links to non-drupal sites in "her" sig.
I deleted her saved signature, and all the sigs she's posted so far. Let's see what "she" does next. If we get an email, fine. If it's really a spammer, they'll realize we're onto them and hopefully give up.
Somebody remind me to check this situation again in a few days and follow up with robinfly's spammy ways? Thanks.

Read moreSpam flagging
Have you all (the GDO maintainers) considered implementing a spam flagging feature? My thinking is that average users could flag posts/comments they consider to be spam, which would then go into an incident queue where maintainers can agree and remove post or disagree and let it be.
E.g., I think this is spam http://groups.drupal.org/node/7732#comment-38002

Hello, jkeywell1,
Organic groups updated and job posts no longer issue notification emails
i have upgraded OG today. There were some major under the hood changes, so please watch out for bugs.
As part of the new features, I disabled email notifications for job posts. This is based on feedback that they were "taking over my group.". If a group admin wants to deemphasize them in the web presentation, she may do so using the new group Pages feature. I will be adding the ability for a group admin to remove arbitrary content types from the list of 'Create' links in the group block. That would effectively remove 'job' or other content types from the group.
