Drupal in Education and other education-related groups
It looks like Drupal in Education, one of the largest groups on groups.drupal.org with more than 1200 members, is growing too large and is splitting apart. In the moderation queue right now there are groups for Drupal for K-12 Schools, California Higher Education and Higher Education.

This is a proposal for me to be made moderator of the Buenos Aires group (http://groups.drupal.org/buenos-aires-dug).
I have posted a message to that effect in the group. The creator has contact option de-selected so I cannot send him a direct message. The group has been abandoned for over a year.
The reasons are stated in the message: http://groups.drupal.org/node/69963
Read moreChange word "Manager" for something more accurate
Due to a hot discussion at: http://groups.drupal.org/node/69348 I noticed that the use of word "Manager" in local groups is generating so much confusion. Some people thinks that is a position of privilege and power, also as door open to abuse of power, etc. Also, when somebody creates a group: http://groups.drupal.org/node/add/og, there is any advice regarding local groups and the role that a "Manager" has.
Please may we define what exactly are the powers of a "Manager" and rethink about this word? can we use another more accurate?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Read moreMerging Beginner Docs into Main Docs
I just noticed this group: http://groups.drupal.org/beginner-documentation because someone started cross posting to the (recently opened) main docs group: http://groups.drupal.org/documentation-team
I'm not sure who's actually keeping tabs on this beginner docs group, but I wonder if it wasn't created because of the main docs group having been closed to posting prior to a month or so ago. Anyhow, it seems pretty redundant and the docs team aren't monitoring it as far as I know, so I'm thinking it'd be nice to merge it into the main docs group.

Hi!
According to this information about abandoned groups I'm asking for permission to manage the Drupal group Bulgaria
I contacted the group manager huss a month ago to join forces and expand the group, but there was no reaction. Then I posted more than 3 weeks ago to the Drupal group Bulgaria the discussion about the maintenance of the group and wrote him using the contact form to respond at least to the post. But still no reaction.
Read moreRoles at g.d.o
I recently got the admin role in the Sweden group, but I cannot find any information about what an admin is supposed to do. Is there any page describing this? I noticed some changes such as the permission to edit any post, using panels etc, but it would be great to have a complete list of the permissions and responsibilities of an admin.
Perhaps the about page could include a section describing the different roles at g.d.o such as Webmaster, Group Manager, Admin, Authenticated User and Anonymous User.

Peter Wolanin and I are planning to meet in #drupal-groups on Wednesday at 1PM Eastern Time for about an hour to review groups in the moderation queue. Many of these groups are easy to accept/reject because they clearly make sense or don't based on our guidelines. But some require more thought and a judgment call. This meeting has two agenda items:
- Review the guidelines for no more than 15 minutes.
Spam filter triggered by empty comment title
I'm having problems with one of my comments to a post which is not spam and cannot see the captcha either, so I'm getting blocked. I found that leaving the title empty trigger the error, so filling the title with any text skips it. I used to fill in only the body of the comment as drupal fills in the title automatically. However, this is not happening now.
Read moreprocess for knowing who blocked/deleted whom/what
We (Josh Koenig and I, the people who respond to the "contact" tab on this site) have had an increasing number of reports recently that posts are getting deleted inappropriately.
In many cases the block is appropriate, but it takes a lot of time and effort to understand what happened. I'd rather have some more transparency on this. Here are some possible ideas of how we could get a better "paper trail" for this. These are not set in stone, so I would love suggestions and more ideas:
- Use something like Journal to record a lot of actions.
Group Español needs new admnistrator
I have tried to contact the group admin of Español more than 2 weeks ago and got not answer. I have also asked several people in that group and IRC channel #drupal-es but nobody knows about him.
Finally, I've done a public announcement in that group(and all the Spanish groups) about this its irregularities: name and description are not written in English, welcome message is too short, the short url is "espa-ol" o_O! and again got not answer.
