Washington, DC Drupalers

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

This group is for everyone living in the DC metro area who's interested in Drupal. You can post here about anything relating to DC and Drupal, whether that's local job postings, events, or just a call out to talk shop over beers.

You can also find us in a couple of other places:

We have a great meetup every month where we get together to connect in person. The target audience is Drupal developers, users, and people who want to learn more about Drupal. We start the meetups with a round of very focused lightning talks that discuss real world solutions to existing problems, new work people have done, and Drupal news. Some of these talks are about code, and some are not. We do ask that all presenters talk on a level that everyone - including non-developers - can follow. After the talks, we chat over beer, and maybe play a few games of foosball.

We're open to ways to improve the meetups and this group, so speak up if you have ideas!

You show me how to use a Drupal CMS, I buy the coffee/beers!

I'm a relative Drupal noob who needs help figuring out how to do basic site management. I don't need to build anything or code anything - just use the CMS I've been handed on a site that I'm running for work.

I've used several CMSs and am generally technically conversant (I know HTML/CSS, Photoshop, InDesign, Wordpress, etc.). Most people consider me a nice person. I would really appreciate an hour or two of help at the cafe/watering hole of your choice in the DC area!

Cheers,

Trish

LDAP Module help needed ASAP

We are working on a client site and everything has gone pretty smoothly, except for one problem--our LDAP implementation is just not working. Would be willing to pay someone to fix it. Timeline is pretty tight as we've been trying everything we know and cannot seem to get it working. LDAP connects but binding seems to be the problem. Contact me at jvenable@figleaf.com with rate and questions.

thanks!

John

Moving Drupal site to Git without undermining security

I would like to move the site I administer into git, but want to make sure I do so responsibly.

What is the best practice for this -- only using a private repository on GitHub, or selectively moving files to GitHub (e.g., excluding settings.php and the database)?
Thanks!
