This group is for everyone living in the DC metro area who's interested in Drupal. You can post here about anything relating to DC and Drupal, whether that's local job postings, events, or just a call out to talk shop over beers.

We have a great meetup every month where we get together to connect in person. The target audience is Drupal developers, users, and people who want to learn more about Drupal. We start the meetups with a round of very focused lightning talks that discuss real world solutions to existing problems, new work people have done, and Drupal news. Some of these talks are about code, and some are not. We do ask that all presenters talk on a level that everyone - including non-developers - can follow. After the talks, we chat over beer, and maybe play a few games of foosball.
We're open to ways to improve the meetups and this group, so speak up if you have ideas!
Loading drush into Git BASH
If your project requires working with Windows and you have both mysysgit and propeople drush installed, it would be really helpful to be able to do something like:
drush | grep super-awesome-drush-function
...yes, you can do this inside ProPeople\Drush\ with Git BASH, but how do you load drush into Git BASH - somewhere outside Drush install directory? Like a drupal web root for instance!

Out of the past 15 DrupalCon's that have been held, I have had the opportunity to attend exactly one of them. Whether it's time, or budget, or some other reason, sometimes it's just difficult or inconvenient to make it. I can't help but feel like I'm not the only person in that position.

Suggestions on Local Resources for PHP Training
Hey everyone, local Drupal Developer here looking for learning opportunities in PHP. I have sort of hit the ceiling in my development in Drupal because my PHP chops are definitely subpar. Self-taught with Drupal books, Lynda.com, ThinkVitamin.com, BuildaModule.com, NodeOne, MustardSeed etc etc. I keep realizing that in order to really get better I have to focus on just learning PHP for now. I am a little tired of learning on my own and I want to join a classroom setting for one-on-one instruction.

DC Drupalers and non-profits heading to NTEN's NTC in San Francisco
The Non-Profit Technology Conference is doing their first ever Drupal Day on April 3. NTC is going to be in San Francisco this year, but it would be great if we could get a strong show of support and kick off the conference with some Drupal fun. I'll be heading out for the conference and I know there are some other attendees from the DC area going as well, so it would be great to connect beforehand.
