This is the working group to discuss and coordinate the integration of client-side editors in Drupal core.
Developers and maintainers of client-side editors (aka. WYSIWYG) integration modules and other interested people are invited to join in and share their ideas and participate in the current efforts to build a Wysiwyg API that seamlessly integrates with Drupal core.
More information on the current status of the module can be found on the Wysiwyg project page.
Live discussions on development and support happen in #drupal-wysiwyg.
The current status, progress, and roadmap of all efforts are summarized on a special page:
FCK editor is now CK editor...
Greetings! I'm a new installer/user of WYSIWYG and absolutely loving it.
It looks like the WYSIWYG install panel could be updated to look for the ckeditor library folder and ckeditor.js for the new version. Must be something to do the name looking too much like a swear word? ;)

Hi All,
I am a newbee and installed wysiwig along with FckEditor, and made FckEditor default for all the filters. How ever when I go to the create content page of any node, The Editor appears in case of administrator, where as for any other authenticated users the editor doesn't show up.
Please provide me with a solution as it is a very time critical application.

If there's a list of these somewhere, could you add http://drupal.org/project/columns_filter to it please?
dboulet has just posted an awesome patch to add a wysiwyg button to this module; new release will be up soon.
Very New Newbee Here with a tiny question...

I see the WYSIWUG module will work with a number of editors. FCKeditor (i must be careful typing these first three letters?!?&%#$@) Tiny, etc.

Hello.
Can someone give me a hint as to why WYSIWYG+TinyMCE may not render in a simple theme written from scratch?
I did enable editor default CSS in all WYSIWYG profiles, as addressed at http://groups.drupal.org/node/21298 , my code does output $scripts and $styles in the head. The editor works in standard themes and the one I recently made using garland as a starting point, but not in the one made from scratch. Any ideas?
Attached is the theme file.
Thank you.
Alex.
Buttons and Plugin changes don't seem to matter
Sorry for duplication this issue, but I didn't get a response on #drupal-wysiwyg.
I have just installed wysiwyg-5.x-2.x-dev under d5.19 including jquery_update-5.x-2.0 (copied jquery.js to /misc). Then added Tinymce to /sites/all/libraries.
When I enable wysiwyg and create a new page, the editor comes up with a default tool bar.
When I edit admin/settings/wysiwyg/profile the tool bar doesn't change.
I couldn't find out, if this is an issue already. Please advise.

Hi.
I would greatly appreciate input on the following:
I installed the WYSIWYG module (6.x-2.0) and a TinyMCE library.
I also unpacked the TinyMCE spellchecker plugin into the plugins folder withing the "libraries/tinymce" path
Wysiwyg
Just had to reinstall all the modules because of a core update, and so I need to reinstall the wysiwyg editor. I found the new Wysiwyg module, and thought great this should be simpler to install and configure than before. But after reading the install instructions it turns out you must also install a "library". I think what most drupal site admins want most is a simple wysiwyg editor that is built into Drupal or a module that you just install and is ready to go.

Hi all,
I've been doing some work looking at the integration of the gallery module with wysiwyg & tinymce, posted on drupal.org here.
Basically it's a patch to tie gallery into the current wysiwyg module with tinymce to allow simpler g2image integration. Tied to helmo's patch for the wysiwyg hook it allows a g2image button to be used in tinymce.
I'd appreciate anyone's thought's or comments.

Read moreInterest in integrating WMD editor?
Hi, all.
I'm seriously thinking of taking a crack at integrating the WMD markdown editor into Drupal, via the WYSIWYG API. (This is the same editor as used on Stack Overflow.)
I've had a bit of a search in this group, but not found any discussion regarding this particular editor. Is there anyone who might have started work on this already? Or is interested in collaborating?

Read moreWYSIWYG API isn't showing any WYSIWYG editor at all
Hi,
I installed the latest version of the WYSIWYG API on my Drupal 6 system and enabled it.
Then I downloaded both the TinyMCE editor and the FCK editor and put them in the right place
(~/sites/all/libraries/...) and the admin panel marked those two editors as installed.
Then I added both editors to a few input types and configured them to show three buttons (bold, italic and underline).
They are set to default, so each page I edit should show an editor, but I don't get to see anything!
In the source output code I do have the lines for the JavaScripts needed.

Now that FileField and ImageField have stable releases (both 6.x-3.0), it's time to join forces and integrate ImageField with the WYSIWYG editors our clients love (need) so much. Some projects exist for Image and work very well, many of them plan to support/switch to ImageField at a later stage, and it's just difficult for me to decide which project to help. For you too ? Or are you involved in one of these modules ? Please help by editing this wiki page.

I'm getting close to ripping my hair out. I am trying to install some of the WYSIWYG-API-compatible Drupal modules. have you guys checked out CKeditor? http://ckeditor.com/ Demo here http://ckeditor.com/ckeditor/3.0b2/_samples/index.html It is as far as I know a complete Rewrite of FCKeditor.
So it has the beloved function set, but has improved one thing that troubled most of us: it is BLAZING FAST!
Plus some cool features like inline editing (a text changes into an editable area on doubleclick and stuff).
Check it out! (no, i am no CKeditor developer and salesman)
