Welcome to the Drupal Ottawa User Group. We will use this group to develop the Drupal community in Ottawa, to plan local events (DrupalCamps, informal get-togethers, etc.) and to share success stories and planned / completed drupal implementations. Public servants (this is Ottawa after all) interested in deploying bilingual / Common Look & Feel compliant governmental web sites will find colleagues in this group facing the same challenges related to the introduction of drupal in the federal government.
Bilingual language toggle in Drupal 7
It would be helpful to know how those developing bilingual sites are creating a language toggle as on standard gov't pages. If you're on the English page, you should see a link to the French page and vice-versa.
In Drupal 7 I'm using the core language switcher block of the locale module. However that displays a link to the current active language as well as to the translated language, and doesn't seem to be configurable. I'm not sure if I can override it somehow?
I've come across this solution for Drupal 6, which seems pretty hefty for such a small issue:

FFmpeg Hosting Recommendation
Hello all,
I am in the process of finalizing this video website for a client. This will allow users to register and post their short videos (Less than 3 minutes).
I used shared hosting from Pacifichost.com during the development phase, but for production I will need either a VPS or a Dedicated server.
My client is a non profit organization and can't really afford the cost of a Dedicated Server.
The questions is to find a reliable VPS that support FFMpeg for a reasonable price.
Any suggestions ?

Enter Arts Court from the front entrance, up all those stairs. Pass through the first two sets of doors to enter the foyer and walk straight to where the front hallway ends at the Ottawa Art Gallery. Turn LEFT and walk through two sets of doors. The Artengine Lab is on your RIGHT just after you pass through that 2nd set of doors.
Wheelchair access is possible via the door to the left of the front entrance. Ring the intercom bell at that door, and an attendant from the front desk will come down and open the door for you.

Nobody has answered where to have this, so I suggest James Street (where we used to go). I know three or four other people expressed interest in attending last time, but not through Groups.Drupal, so if everyone could sign up here to let people know if anyone is showing up, that would be great.

Drupalcamp Toronto - anybody need a lift?
I'm currently planning on going to Drupalcamp in Toronto, leaving Ottawa late afternoon, Thursday the 14th, returning Saturday evening the 16th --- unless someone points out that I have the dates wrong :) --- or has a compelling argument for staying Saturday night.
I usually want to stop for pie at the Big Apple (if it's open) but otherwise anticipate driving straight there and back.
