Best Training
I am a long time web designer and am just getting started with Drupal. I have done some work on the development side as well. Anyone have any suggestions for the best training out there to get up to speed on making fully custom sites in Drupal. I plan on attending the Phoenix Drupal Camp but need something sooner. I have the Definitive Guide to Drupal 7 book I am going through but are there other better training solutions? Books, Videos, etc?
Thanks!

Hey, everyone. I got to Drupal in a very round-about way as I am not a developer. I am part of a task force at work that created a campaign. Our marketing company designed a basic WordPress site for us but I wasn't comfortable being the administrator, not having built it from scratch and not knowing the exact functionality. Therefore, I created my own WordPress site for the campaign and we went with that. Unfortunately, the dreams I have for the campaign and the website that accompanies it are greater than I feel WordPress will allow me to accomplish.
Read morePossible Change in PHXDUG Meetup Place and Time
Kevin Wall and I have been discussing possible changes to the regularly scheduled Phoenix Drupal Users Group Meetup place and time, and we wanted to open it up for general discussion.
First, we're considering moving the Meetup location further South. I understand that the ASU Drupal Users Group hasn't been meeting regularly of late and they might like to drop in on ours, if it was a little more centrally located. There are also a number of us who would like to spend less time getting to and from the meeting. (For example, I spend 45 minutes coming up from Chandler to North Scottsdale.)

Drupal 7 was released today, and release parties are being planned world-wide on Friday. We should make sure Phoenix and Arizona State University are on the map by throwing a party ourselves! Let's talk about a good place to have it, and if you or your organization have already started planning one, toss in any ideas you might have. It might be fun to mix things up a bit and meet somewhere new. Any ideas?

Read moreRubric and Assignment Studio Modules Released!
I've been rambling / showing off aspects of these two modules for almost 1 and a 1/2 years now and FINALLY they have been completely rewritten in an open way. They are two separate modules though I'd recommend using them together as that's how they've been tested fully. They are currently being used during our active semester in 4 courses and so far results have been very positive. If you're looking to do online assessment with Drupal, this is a big component and I hope that I can integrate my solution with other projects discussed in this group.

UPDATE Network Manager has been released for 5 6 and 7.
I'm releasing a new module soon and wanted to get some feedback on a screencast that I did. It's a project called the Network Manager (http://drupal.org/project/network_manager) and it helps you manage / maintain your sites all from within one site (given permissions set correctly for mysql user).
Here are links to the screencast (Jing forces it to be in 5 minute segments) --

UTO has released the ASU directory module for use on department Drupal sites.
What is it? It's a module for Drupal 5.x that you can install which will give you blocks of people in groups. All information is pulled from the directory. Once you've created the blocks, they can then be assigned to any page or location on your pages.
What is it used for? It's perfect for creating a dynamic staff/about page which will update to match the people in your directory

Just wanted to advise you to use caution if you download the Drupal version 6 for ASU sites. The current ASUZen theme is not compatible with 6. You may also find that some contributed modules have not yet been upgraded to 6, including the ASU WebAuth module. The ASUZen theme and ASU WebAuth module are being updated and will be released for Drupal 6 in the near future. A message will be sent out on this and other mailing lists when they’re available.
