Brighton Digital Festival Event - Drupal Discovery Day
Hi,
We needed to get the details in by the end of the day today which I've just managed to do so thought I'd post here so you all know what's going on, hopefully some of you will come along / help out / spread the word!!! We have some interest from sponsors already (us three so far lol) - I'm also going to apply for https://association.drupal.org/grants which would be cool!
This is a great opportunity for us to spread the word about Drupal and be part of a month-long celebration of digital stuff in Brighton - an opportunity not to be missed! http://brightondigitalfestival.co.uk/

As noted in our discussion (http://groups.drupal.org/node/159954), deadline is this Friday for events to be included in the Brighton Digital Festival.
As such, we are holding an extra meeting tomorrow evening 7pm at The Hampton Arms (http://www.drinkinbrighton.co.uk/hampton) to finalise what, if anything, we are going to be able to achieve for this - a DrupalCamp? Drupal Day?
It's our ideal opportunity to show people what Drupal is all about and grow the local community. The Brighton Farm freelancers meetup is in the pub from 8pm so you can network after too if you like.

Brighton Digital Festival (September)
Hi,
Brighton's having a 'Digital Festival' in September - perhaps this could be a good time to get Drupal out to the wider masses?
I originally thought a DrupalCamp would be good, but I don't think the community is strong enough for that just yet - I mentioned again at the meeting last night that perhaps we should do some kind of half-day 'showcase', perhaps some intro tutorials too.
I note that some local companies are finding it hard to get Drupal freelance talent - surely the only way to tackle this is to all join in and help the community grow so there's more of us?!

Hi all,
I'm helping out the Drupal Association with sponsorship for DrupalCon London in August. I have the latest sponsorship opportunities list which I've sent out to a few members already - please do email me off-list at steve@purkiss.com if you'd like a copy and/or a chat.
As I mentioned at our last meeting it would be good to club together to get a Brighton table/stall, but also feel free to take up any of the other opportunities available.
There's also a business day in central London which looks quite attractive - let me know if you want to have a chat about any of these.

Unable to take advantage of the bank holiday bonanza? Not bothered by the royal wedding? Fancy a beer and a chat about Drupal?
Although many of us will be taking advantage of the "take 3 get 11" holiday opportunity, for many of us it will be business as usual and so it is for Drupal Beer and Chat.
As Monday is the bank holiday, we have moved the meetup to Tuesday 26th. You'll be able to find us by the bar, upstairs in the Square Pig, as per usual.
