Beginners Guide to Theming
Hi all,
I've been trying to design my own theme. Can anybody recommend a basic guide to theming on Drupal 6 - the more basic the better. Idiot proof is best. Any suggestions welcome.
Cheers,
Damian
Tokens, Variables and triggered email actions
I have spent the last two hours searching for answers on these questions and cannot find anything that provides what I need. I setup a triggered rule that sends an email when a new node type is created. This works great, but I cannot get the email to provide any node variables. I tried using tokens and still the email is sent out with for example [url] printed in the email as opposed to the url of the node.
I am using Drupal 6.12
How do I know what node tokens or variables are available to reference? I cannot find a list anywhere.

Hi fellow Drupalers,
My back has been getting progressively worse and I can hardly sit or stand at the moment so think I need a week of not going out. Do you want me to set up the meeting anyway, i.e. does anyone wanna meet up on Weds, 6pm, Hampton Arms before the Freelancers Farm?

Read moreRules module not working
I've come up against a problem with the rules module where it always returns false when checking a condition to see if a particular content type has been created. I have the same problem when checking the value of a CCK field. I checked and the host is running PHP 4.4.8.
I researched the error in the forums and found this article which seems to be the eact problem: http://drupal.org/node/313371
If anyone knows how I can fix this that would be great as I need this functionality for a couple of projects I am working on.
Thanks

Read moreMeeting tomorrow?
Hi,
We've been busy launching our latest client Drupal site - http://holymoly.com - so I haven't had chance to organise the meeting I said there was going to be tomorrow (7th) at the West Hill.
I'm really coming to the limit of what I can run - I'm doing this, the Hove Social Media Cafe, and starting up a Virtual Enteprise Network, as well as running my business ;)
If people want to meet up tomorrow because they can't make a Wednesday that would be cool, perhaps someone would like to step forward as organiser of that - I'll stick with the monthly third Wednesday before the Farm.

Hi,
I am trying to get drop down menus working for my Navigation bar along the top of my site. I have tried to do this using nice menus, but it has thrown up the following unusual results
1 The menus should be on the right hand side and not the left.
2 The menus are back to front i.e. the About us should be on the left hand side and not the right
3 It is showing them down the page in IE.
Does anyone have any suggestions on this. Should I be persevering with nice menus or is there an alternative?
thks,
Nolan.
Hierarchical Sites
What solutions have people had most success with in creating hierarchical sites with Drupal? In my experience, users don't find the 'Menu settings' section on the node edit form at all intuitive.
Among different approaches I've seen are:

Details of next South East UK Drupal Group meeting in Brighton - feedback pls!
Hi,
OK I've come up with a plan for meetings, please reply if this is an issue for you! I've tried to accommodate everyone's needs, including mine which is at some point to go to the Brighton Robotics meetup which is the last Thursday of the month.
So, seen as we did a Thursday last time for the workshop, I'm proposing:
2nd Thursday of each month at the West Hill just behind Brighton station, so should be easy for commuters, 6pm start.
4th Wednesday of each month at the Farm Freelancers meetup, 6pm start (Farm starts at 8pm). Usually they meet at the Hampton Arms.

Hi there,
Now that they have announced the dates of the Paris DrupalCon (1st - 5th September 2009), I was wondering if anyone has any plans from this area to attend.
I know I'm massively jumping the gun, as prices, etc haven't even been released, but I'm very eager to go - and because of monetary restraints, want to attend as cheaply as possible, so am considering apartment shares, transport, etc, if anyone is interested?
Best wishes,
Ian
Drupal image modules
Hi,
I am building my first drupal site and am confused by the number of different image modules there are and how they work. Is anyone able to shed any light on this subject?

Brighton Drupal 101 Workshop - A full house!
Thanks to all who came to the Drupal 101 Workshop at http://theskiff.org in Brighton last Thursday, we had 17 people turn up!
I was quite nervous and there was such a wide range of experience levels I decided to start by going through the basics then onto a few more detailed subjects, like the SEO-Friendly URLs which I've just added a wiki page for so you can see what I did.

Automatic nodetitle problem
I have run into a problem with the automatic nodetitle module which I have researched and failed to solve.
No matter what I set the 'Pattern for the title' to when I enable 'Automatically generate the title and hide the title field' it always sets the title of the node to 'ant'
Here is a related post http://drupal.org/node/413678#comment-1451786
If anyone has any ideas on how to solve this I would be really grateful.

Third monthly meetup for those using, or who are interested in using the 'community plumbing' Drupal (http://drupal.org) system.
This time instead of a pub meeting we'll be doing a workshop down at http://theskiff.org. A fair few people want to know how to get started with Drupal, so we'll call this one 'Drupal 101'.
Some topics covered:
- downloading & installing Drupal (if anyone needs to know!)
- intro to Drupal terminology - nodes, users, blocks, themes, views, etc.
- OK, so I have Drupal, what next?
- topics then based on what the people who turn up want to talk about...
