This group is a space for both developers and staff working at/with Community Media Centers and Public Access TV Stations to discuss the implementation of Drupal and CiviCRM based systems. This project has a long, complicated history, but several key contributors have been contributing to this project since 2006.
The "CMDrupal" project focuses on all major components of the operational workflow of a Community Media Center and involves Drupal module development and custom configuration in several distinct but overlapping areas:
- integration with CiviCRM for membership management and training class enrollment
- a project based system for resource reservations linked to user training certifications
- ingestion of video content and metadata integrated with local playback servers
The Community Media Starter Kits distributions provide the structure for the project. The starter kits are available in Easy (ESK), Moderate (MSK), and Difficult (DSK) versions. The starter kits are Drupal distributions that include most modules, libraries, and themes needed to build a community media related site, but are not designed as one size fits all solution. Even the Community Media Starter Kit (Easy) typically requires several hours of configuration and customization to meet the needs of an organization. The DSK is
If you are interested in getting involved in CMDrupal, please read our Commitment to Contribute. Unlike an open source project like Firefox that may actually benefit from just using the browser, this project requires users to eventually become contributors at some level to be successful.
I know that at least some of the folks on this group of community media practitioners are also Telvue users who chose Telvue because of the lead role they took in users in smart, open solution for community media.
In a couple of weeks at the Alliance for Community Media Northeast Regional Conference (in Plymouth, MA) http://www.acm-ne.org there will be a Telvue Users Meetup on Nov. 1 from 12 - 1:30pm.

A lot of discussion focused on a funding consortium or other structure that could be put in place for shared development costs.
Large and midsize stations are much better suited to take the lead on this (MNN, SPNN, channelAustin )
Midsize and smaller stations may be able to set aside a line item for this - but then do not have the staff resources to implement/document/test. Can it work for them?Read more

While the internet was originally designed to withstand a nuclear attack, today a single Anonymous member took down millions of sites and a large part of the domain registry system. AnonymousOwn3r claimed that he/she did this to "test how the cybersecurity is safe".Read more

REVIEW MEETING SOFTWARE:
The first item on the agenda was to play with the meeting software. The screen sharing component is cost prohibitive for collaborative screen sharing which is a goal of the group.
Ready Talk is offered by Kevin as long as there isn't a scheduling conflict. Phone call is recorded, videos are recorded to the server.
Every participant can share the screen. Chat functionality. No notes and agenda - but perhaps these could be taken on GDO.Read more
In the effort to provide ongoing peer to peer support for organizations and individuals that are installing and configuring the Community Media Starterkit and related modules - we have Friday online hangouts at 2pm est. These began after the Austin Summit as an informal means to stay connected with others working on smilar projects.
We had been using Google+ to do our hangouts but I am attempting some different software to facilitate the meetings. I set up a demo on Lucid Meeting for 8/3 at 2pm est.

At the ACM session this morning, Tony Shawcross (@deproduciton) demo'ed a "Granicus killer" feature and stated that ALL the code the OMF has developed is on Drupal.org. Where can we find the "clickable agenda" code?

This is a work in progress. I've assigned a few people to lead other sessions who I think understand the topic. PLEASE change, add new sessions suggestions or your name to an existing suggestion with an indication if you'd be willing to lead/co-lead or are interested in attending and hoping someone else will lead. - Kevin

Several sites have already started to use the development version of the Community Media Theme. The theme is in constant development. But for more stations to be able to use this theme effectively we are trying to roll out a stable version fairly soon.
To do this I'd need feedback from users who have installed the theme and had issues with it:
1) What issues have you had when installing the theme?
2) What configurations have you found difficult to understand?
