Welcome! This group is for news and discussions related to Drupal documentation. If you join this group, you'll be signed up to receive email notifications; you can change your preferences on your account page. You can also subscribe to posts via RSS (check the sidebar of this page), and via email using the links at the bottom of this page.
Anyone can contribute to documentation, and the entire Drupal community will benefit from your help! You do not have to formally join a team (or this group) or ask for permission -- just start writing and editing. The Contribute to Documentation section on Drupal.org has more information, and the New Contributors section on Drupal.org has some tasks that will help you get you started.
If you have ideas about how the processes, procedures, and tools for Drupal documentation can be improved, the Documentation Working Group (a committee that is part of the Drupal project governance structure) invites you to make suggestions. Information on how to do that is on the Documentation Working Group home page.

Read moreDrupal 8 distro development documentation
I was checking out Distribution developers guideto read up on the new API for developing distros with Drupal 8.
Besides the link the the install-profiles, there doesn't seem to exist very much about more advanced distros right now.
Is there any work and/or discussions going on about writing such documentation right now?
Would be grateful for links to more information too.

Read moreOASIS DITA TC: RFP for dita.xml.org site (currently Drupal-based)
Hi,
the OASIS DITA technical committees have published a RFP for their official website "to put more DITA in dita.xml.org". The site is currently powered by Drupal (6?).
"The Drupal implementation for dita.xml.org has been a long-standing source of pain, and we want to redo the site in early 2015," they write. Shouldn't that be a challenge for the Drupal community and/or some of the larger Drupal companies to prove them wrong?

Introducing... This Month in Drupal Documentation (TMIDD)
Similar to "This Week in Drupal Core", the relatively new Documentation Working Group (DocWG) is trying out a new communication strategy: an approximately monthly post on what is happening in Drupal Documentation. We'll be posting this both to the Core and Documentation groups on groups.drupal.org, and because it is posted to Core, comments will be disabled by policy.
