With the discussion to remove a lot of default styling from core and putting the class names and other attributes in the hands of the themers/designers. I am thinking an official attributes array is in order for theme functions.

A Design Related Summer of Code Project?

What's up designers? As some of you may know I'm heading up the google summer of code this year for Drupal (for background on the GSoC see: http://drupal.org/google-summer-of-code/2009 ). I'm not sure what big items need to get created in order to make Drupal theming more awesomer, which is why I'm asking for your help!

We absolutely have to have a design related project in this year's Summer of Code! (Obviously just my opinion, but I think it's very, very important) In order for that to happen we need ideas for projects, and the window to get the projects in is pretty short. So- who wants to help get some major design work done for Drupal? All you have to do is go to http://drupal.org/google-summer-of-code/2009 and create a discussion with your idea.

And remember, not only might we get some killer Design features from a student's work, but we might find a design-oriented webchick out there!

Any ideas?

Ok, to supplement the discussion thread here (http://groups.drupal.org/node/19831) let's have this wiki page as the consolidated home for items we, as a group, determine appropriate to add to the issue queue. I expect that each of these items will end up needing its own thread in time, but here's a place to start.

Please be trustworthy about keeping things in the correct vetted/new lists.

Theme & Design track on Drupalcon Paris brainstorm

The good people in paris have given us the opportunity to have a theme & design track in paris 2009.
and even better the want me to be responsible for that track gasp
and even better *2 they have given us more or less free hands to do what ever we wanna do!!!

So what I need to know right now is:

What session would you love to see at a drupalcon.
Is it important to have sessions that are not "drupalcentric" aka "color theory", "designing with a grid" etc
wishes wishes wishes - whatever your idea come with it

I posted a preliminary patch over issue queue http://drupal.org/node/395116 to stir a discussion whenever we need CSS reset in core and how core CSS setup -- file structure, rulesets etc -- should look like in D7. reset.css proposal is could be the first step in having decent CSS framework in core -- or if that is not gonna happen, just enforce some sensible CSS practices.
