Facebook API

We encourage users to post events happening in the community to the community events group on https://www.drupal.org.
This group should probably have more organizers. See documentation on this recommendation.

Facebook now has some open APIs. How about we work together to make a Facebook API module that can be extended for site specific needs, but has a solid base to integrate Facebook and Drupal.

Views feature

I was wondering is there a module or a feature in views where that user can edit a content in a view instead of going to find that content that is being used in view.

New IRC channel: #drupal-facebook

I just created a new IRC channel on freenode called #drupal-facebook, which I hope will become an active place for discussion of best practices on integrating Drupal and Facebook.

There are quite a few modules in this space, so getting started can be confusing. I hope that having a place to talk online in real-time will make this less of a problem. Discussion of the Facebook API itself will be on-topic, as well.

Best design for a Facebook application that runs on both JSP & Drupal (same-origin policy issues)

My organization (TechMission) currently has a live Facebook app on facebook.christianvolunteering.org, and a Drupal install at www.urbanministry.org. The Facebook app is coded in JSP, but runs off the Drupal database. (To see the app, visit http://apps.facebook.com/find-your-calling.)

Anyone Out There With a Live Facebook App Using Drupal for Facebook?

I just released my app into public beta (http://apps.facebook.com/trizmplaybeta). I am hosting the app using the Drupal for Facebook module running on an EC2 instance. I am currently utilizing only the base functionality of the fb module (mostly due to ignorance and lack of skills ;-). I am looking for others in the same boat to bounce ideas off of and compare results.

First I want to thank Dave Cohen for all the work he has put into the module, I'm sure I would be months away from launching my beta without his module.

Going the other way :) the right tool for the job ?

Hello All.

I may be wrong but in a traditional fashion for me I seem to have a need that goes the other way than most.

My need is simple : I want to be able to have a given node automatically published on a facebook account.
It could be just the tittle and teaser or the title and the whole node, being able to choose one or the other from the node publish page would be a plus.

Social networking accounts: unified approach to store in external account data in user content profiles?

Currently, drupal integration with networking sites happens through contrib modules that all store their settings in different ways. For example, both Facebook Connect and Twitter store combinations of drupal user IDs with external IDs (Facebook uid, and Twitter account name) in custom database tables, and both provide a custom interface to edit social network account information in a user profile. Consequently, views integration is custom and relies on the contrib module to implement it.

facebook photostream

Hi,

Has anyone started working on or investigated a drupal module that would import images from facebook, using facebook connect.

I need one for a site I'm working on at the moment. I'll probably link it with imagefield and create nodes for each photo from a users facebook group.

If anyone has had a go at something similar or has an idea where to look please leave a reply..

Thanks

John

My experience with Drupal and Facebook

I'm neither a drupal nor facebook guru, but I have tried my hand at drupal-facebook api integration (5.x mostly 9 months ago so I'm not abreast of new development), and I just wanted to share my experiences as someone only moderately familiar with both platforms. First of all progress on the drupal - facebook integration front seems slow in general and the modules out there don't seem very mature.

How could you use the Plings API to create a great application?

If you had an API which fed in listings of events going on all around the country what would you do with it? And how would you deliver it to the end user? Mash it up with Google Maps? Flickr? Facebook? Twitter?

Quick question (I hope...)

My apologies if I am missing the obvious but I am just at the beginnings of my quest for an answer.

I am looking for a way to pull events down from a Facebook group to a Drupal site using the news aggregator (or something) on the Drupal side. However, at the Facebook group site there does not seem to be a publicly accessible news feed (rss or atom) url - not that I can find anyway... This doesn't surprise me, they [Facebook] may not want you to pull feeds down unless you're a member of the group or they may only want to restrict you to working with the Facebook UI itself?
