This is a large area that includes cities such as Riverside, Corona, Chino, Upland, Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana, Rialto, San Bernardino, Moreno Valley, Temecula, Hemet & Murrieta. We welcome Drupal beginners & seasoned professionals - we hope to be a place where we can all network & learn something from one another.
Our meetups occur on the 2nd Thursday of every month in Ontario unless otherwise mentioned.
You might also want to check out some of the other Southern California groups if you can't make ours: Orange County, Los Angeles, High Desert, and San Diego.

This event has been postponed due to lack of signups from those who qualify. We apologize for the inconvenience to those who have already RSVPd. Stay tuned to Meetup.com or @Droplabs on Twitter for news of when we reschedule this important event.
Do you own or help manage a company or organization that uses Drupal? Does your team depend on professional Drupal service providers in the Greater Los Angeles Area? Have you and your projects been affected by a shortage of Drupal development and theming talent?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then consider coming to our second Drupal Employers Summit from 7-9pm on Friday, August 16, 2013. There is no charge for this event. It is open to any and all companies and organizations who qualify, by following either or both of the following criteria:
- Hosting any Drupal meetups, trainings or other Drupal community events, including Downtown Drupal, High Performance Drupal, Frontend Drupal, LA Drupal, and so on;
- Sponsoring or exhibiting at any of the Drupal job fairs at Droplabs in June, 2011, November, 2011, and January, 2013.
Hosting a meetup at your office qualifies you for this event. Buying pizza at a meetup, while appreciated, does not. If you do not meet the above qualifications, contact us at http://droplabs.net/contact with a request to attend.
This is a roll-up-your-sleeves working meeting and we will be meeting one another (some for the first time) and discussing the following topics:
- A quick review of the Drupal Employers Summit we had on January 28, 2013;
- Catching up on recent events, such as Droplabs' module development boot camp;
- Building a healthy marketplace and business community of colleagues and potential partners;
- Getting the most out of our recruiting and marketing dollar;
- What we're doing now to staff up, from local recruiting and in-house training to outsourcing and hiring out-of-town or overseas;
- Identifying the skills, job titles and qualifications of desirable candidates, employees and vendors;
- Workshops, trainings and other programs that most or all of us can get behind in order to solve our business needs.
We'll have an open bar and cocktails will be served.

We're offering a free, application-based program designed to improve the Drupal skills of beginner- to intermediate-level Drupal and PHP developers. Together as a group, we're going to be diving into Drupal's APIs and helper functions, developing custom modules (many of us for the first time), using version control and other Drupal developer best practices, and advancing our Drupal skills to the next level.

Droplabs is happy to host Drupal Sprint Weekend: Los Angeles on Saturday and Sunday, March 9 & 10, 2013. On Saturday, coffee and pastries are being sponsored by Exaltation of Larks and lunch will be provided by Princess Cruises.
This event is taking place simultaneously across the globe. See http://groups.drupal.org/node/277768 for a list of other Drupal Sprint Weekend themes and locations around the world.
Those interested in attending this meetup remotely are welcome to join us via a Google+ Hangout.
What's a "code sprint"?
Code sprints are organized events where attendees meet online or in person (and sometimes both) and work toward a shared goal.
Local area organizers have produced several code sprints in recent history, including sprints focused on building the SCALE conference website, resolving issues in the Drupal 7 issue queue and updating the Conference Organizing Distribution (COD) project to Drupal 7.
See https://drupal.org/node/247982 for more information.
What's this code sprint about?
Good question! There will be 4 separate themes at this event:
- The Droplabs Operations Management Group (OMG) is hosting a code sprint for advancing Otto, a Drupal-based coworking space management system, towards its first public release;
- Jen Lampton, who ran the Twig code sprint at Drupal Design Camp LA (the last code sprint before Twig was committed to Drupal core!), has asked Droplabs to be a remote location for Twig Sprint. Droplabs is providing a venue and resources for anyone who's interested in participating;
- Members of the Greater Los Angeles Area Drupal Camp (GLADCamp) organizing team will be working on the GLADCamp website and adding content about the conference, including sponsorship levels, hotel information, and local attractions;
- Droplabs will also provide a FREE mentored Drupal training using Build a Module videos. Just bring your laptop and a pair of headphones. A Droplabs staff member will set up you with a day pass.
We're following up on Sunday with a virtual sprint. Below is the IRC channel and Google+ Hangout information:

San Gabriel Valley Drupal Meetup at Intelligentsia Pasadena from 6-8pm on February 28, 2013: Users Helping Users
This meetup has passed. Our next meetup is on April 25, 2013! See http://groups.drupal.org/node/295838 for details.
End the month with some fun and Drupal at the San Gabriel Valley Drupal Meetup at Intelligentsia Pasadena on Thursday, February 28th, 2013 from 6-8pm! This meetup's focus is on Users Helping Users, which is a chance for members of the community to help and be helped by others with whatever questions and problems they're having with Drupal.
Please note that while Users Helping Users is not designed to be a replacement for bona fide consulting from a Drupal professional that there are plenty of Drupal experts and professionals who attend our meetups and sometimes they need help, too!
Thank You to Our Sponsors!
The raffle prizes for this event are being provided by Exaltation of Larks @LarksLA, a Drupal strategy, consulting, development and training company with a team of Drupal experts in Los Angeles.
This event is being organized with help from Droplabs (@Droplabs), a collaborative Drupal event and coworking space in Downtown Los Angeles.
GLADCamp Site Visit #2 to USC at 3pm on February 15, 2013

In the tradition of several other site visits that we've gone on, this visit is open to everyone and is an excellent opportunity for anyone who's interested in starting to help organize this event.
Sign up at http://groups.drupal.org/node/282568#signup or post a comment at http://groups.drupal.org/node/282568#comments if you're interested in joining us as we tour the facilities. What to Bring
Bring a camera if you have one. This is a walking tour and bringing a laptop, power cables, etc. is not necessary.

Join us at Droplabs for a Build a Module.com mentored training. This training is from 12-3pm. Bring your laptop, your lunch and learn Drupal!
Please bring a WiFi-enabled computer that you can use to connect to the internet and watch videos on (and a set of headphones). Those without headphones can buy or rent headphones from the venue.
Sign up today at http://www.larks.la/training
The entire Build a Module.com library is available during our mentored Drupal training, and this time we will be focusing on the Advanced Site Building series:
http://buildamodule.com/video/advanced-site-building-in-drupal-7-welcome...
Here is a description of Advanced Site Building:
Welcome to the "Advanced Site Building" collection. In this series, we're going to be covering many of Drupal's most powerful modules for laying out and displaying information on a site. The tools you'll be learning are ones that you'll find yourself using on nearly every Drupal project. We'll be exploring how to build complicated displays of content with the Views module.
How to lay out pieces of a page using Panels, Display Suite and Context. We'll explore how to import content using the Feeds module and how to create and modify a slideshow with the Views Slideshow module. We'll also look at displaying and manage content on a site as well as how to protect our site from the inevitable spam we'll get.
We'll dive into which modules are helpful for speeding up the administration of your site, but most importantly, we're going to explore how all of these pieces fit together; where these modules overlap in functionality, and how to decide which tools are right for which context. There's a lot of modules out there, and figuring out which ones are right for a particular job is hard. And if you start with the wrong tools, you could find it time consuming and frustrating to change gears later on.
So, this collection of videos will speed you through the process of how to pick the right tools and will expose you to ways of thinking about these tools that will really pay off in the long run. If you already have a little experience with Drupal, or have watched the "Build Your First Drupal 7 Web Site" collection, you'll already know what you need to in order to start with these videos. If you don't have that experience, you may find that we gloss over some basic Drupal concepts.
Pricing
Suggested donation: $20.
No one will be turned away from this workshop. If you are unable to donate to Droplabs we ask that you volunteer some time helping Droplabs run more smoothly when you drop by and cowork.
Classroom space is limited, so please sign up early.
About Mentored Training
What's the difference between this mentored training and the 3-hour lunch-and-learn Introduction to Drupal Workshop that we're offering next door at the same time?
In short, the 3-hour introductory workshop is better suited toward business owners and project managers. This mentored training is geared for folks who are interested in diving deeper into Drupal's systems and APIs, module or theme development or using popular contributed modules (e.g. Views, Rules, Features, etc.) for site building.

Google+ Authorship
Has anyone googled "Inland Empire Drupal" lately? (ss attached)
Being as this is an open group with no ownership and only leadership, DO NOT claim ownership with your Google+ account of any content published for IE Drupal through our various channels (meetup, gdo, etc.). Ownership shall only be claimed if there was a group account, which there is not. Claiming ownership for ones own personal or professional interest in order to get placement and/or referrals on a Google search result is a major disservice and slap to the group as a whole.

Hi all,
Droplabs has a huge surplus of new Drupal Watchdog magazines at our original Downtown Los Angeles location. If any organizers of Drupal meetups, conferences and workshops around Southern California want a stack to take back to their meetups, let us know!
These are being offered free of charge. Droplabs doesn't have the resources to ship or deliver these, however, so the only catch is you'll need to come pick them up.

Hi everyone,
Even though I was the one who started this group, I have simply not been able to participate due to being extremely busy at work. So huge thanks to Grant for taking the reigns.
I recently joined Acquia as a Technical Account manager and am finding I now have more time to participate. Have we stopped having meetups? How can I best help or assist what others are doing?

Read moreNew Meeting Place Needed for Inland Empire Drupal (IE Drupal)
Okay, I don't want to miss another IE Drupal meeting. I'm not sure if the reason for no meeting in May was solely due to a lack of a meeting place, but that's easily fixed. I'm willing to track down a facility that we can use long term, but I need to know where members would be comfortable driving to.
Read moreWhy do you go to Drupal Camps?
I go to Drupal camps because I know that if I learn one new thing or meet one cool person who's willing to share their experiences with me, then it was a successful use of my time. Whatever I learn doesn't even have to be Drupal related, the point is I'm a wiser person for having immersed myself into the community. I organize Drupal camps because I want others to have that same opportunity, and it's rewarding for me to see people get together and share their brilliant ideas and work.
So, why do you go to Drupal Camps (big, small, local, international)?
