Hey all,
Whangarei is about to have it's first start-up weekend (http://whangarei.startupweekend.org/).
For those who haven't heard of them it's kind of a start-up sprint. Over the weekend people pitch ideas for a start-up business or org, select some ideas & develop them into a pitch & try to develop it into a clear proposal for a startup over the weekend, including code & design to the degree possible.
So, I have been tasked with reaching out to tech folk & designers who might like to come along & learn something new or just contribute their ideas & knowledge.

Hi, I'm looking to go travelling and spend a year in New Zealand on WHV. I hope to pick up some contract work whilst in Auckland and Wellington, but I'm not so sure that there is a lot out there for a mid/senior level developer.
Can anyone give me an idea what the job market is like? Is there much out there, it seems not...
I also have experience in DevOps processes, like Ansible, Jenkins, Docker, Architecture etc, but I am lacking in experience compared to my Drupal knowledge, so I'm not sure if I could go for a fully fledged DevOps role.
Thanks

Howdy every body
As promised we are finishing the year in style by getting together in town, sharing some drinks and talking about what an interesting year it has been.
This event is open to every one, and you don't need to be a craft beer fan to come along. If you prefer coffee / tea / juice that is totally cool, and please don't let that be a barrier to your attendance. This get together is really about us coming together as a community and getting some closure on an exciting, full-on year of Druapl web development.
