This group is a place to share ideas, organize and generally put our heads together regarding how Drupal is, and can be, used for nonprofit, charitable and social justice purposes.
Join us on the third Thursday of every month, at 1:00 PM U.S. Eastern for our group meeting by phone. View our next discussion date.
All calls are free and everyone is welcome! While "#npdrupal" refers to "nonprofit Drupal" (similar to "#nptech") our focus is broader than just nonprofit/NGO-specific uses of Drupal and encompasses all "Drupal for good" work like advocacy, community organizing, fundraising, and campaigns.
Our meetings take place at 1:00 PM US-Eastern/10:00 AM US-Pacific/19:00 CEST. (Convert to your local time zone.)

This wiki page is being created in response to a request for a list of good Drupal blogs on the Women in Drupal outpost on Facebook. There is an uber-list here: Drupal Planet. This is intended to be a smaller list, with a focus on quality, not comprehensiveness. What are your fave blogs about Drupal? Blogs you get the most out of reading? If you've got a fave and it's not here, please add it to the list.

Downtown Los Angeles Drupal Meetup on December 18, 2012, at Droplabs and via WebEx + Holiday Party + Food Drive for the LA Food Bank!
Our Downtown Los Angeles Drupal meetup in December is on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 and once again we're combining it with our annual holiday party and food drive. Help us raise even more than we did last year when we raised $500 for the LA Food Bank! See http://groups.drupal.org/node/267768#food-drive for details.
This event is being hosted by Droplabs, your FREE coworking and hackerspace in Downtown Los Angeles. At this meetup, we're having our usual news and announcements, raffle prizes, lightning talks (which are short, bite-sized presentations) and featured presentations, and plenty of mingling and networking with your local community during our annual holiday party. See http://groups.drupal.org/node/267768#agenda for our agenda for the evening.
Holiday Party
Even if you can't make it to the meetup, you're welcome to join us after all the raffle prizes, job announcements and presentations for our annual holiday party. We'll be mingling and networking for most of the evening, and the party is potluck-style so bring something to share that you like to eat or drink. Post a comment below to let others know what you're thinking of bringing.

New "Drupal for Good" Site -- Goalraiser
Hi all,
I want to share a new site I developed (using Drupal of course)
It's called Goalraiser and it allows anyone to turn a personal goal into a fundraiser for a cause they care about. (I'm losing 20 pounds to raise money for kids with cancer).
We already have a few campaigns -- someone is going to publish their manuscript, another make 500 calls to get Obama re-elected.
You can start your own campaign if you like. It's free and 100% of money raised goes to the cause.

This has gotten a good deal of coverage on Reddit & other sites who are excited about government participation in open source.

Hi
Have submitted a BOF session here -
http://munich2012.drupal.org/content/leveraging-drupal-initiate-change
India is witnessing a growing sensitization in its citizens regarding the need for a change. More and more citizens are willing to challenge the status quo and take required actions to bring about the desired social change. They are restrained from contributing for the lack of proper medium or tools to direct their efforts or resources towards their social objectives.
