How/When We Started: The Indy Drupal Users Group started meeting in January of 2008. Since that time we've ranged from meeting once a month, to twice a month, to infrequently. We've had instructional meetups, guest speakers, some hack-a-thons, and even pulled off 2 DrupalCamps.
We haven't had a meetup since Feb 2016.
OLD NEWS: The IndyDrupal Meetup.com Page has been closed. We will be using this forum from now on.
In April 2018 I asked our 251 MeetUp.com members if they wanted to do a meetup and got little response.

Calendar creation through CCK
Folks, I am using Drupal 6 and attempting to create an Events calendar (only events) to show as a block, limiting what is shown to only events that I or anyone else might post. The problem I am having is that every piece of content that I currently enter into the system, no matter the content type is populating the calendar, even updates/revisions to content. I am also using the date/time module and views module. Can anyone help?

Drupalindy.com Website Planning Survey
Hey all. I thought I would whip together a bit of a survey to help field some ideas for our website plan (which will be discussed at the next meeting). If you take the time to fill out this quick survey, I'll tabulate the data and bring it to the meeting.

Imagecache Actions
This is the Imagecache Actions module which I mentioned in tonight's meeting. A couple of you seemed pretty interested. I've never used it, but it looks sweet.

Visit http://drupalindy.com/ and sign up. When you do, be sure to apply for ADMIN role. When I check the queue and see your name as needing approved I will approve it.
I will also be handing out FTP access so that we can all throw some files in the sites/all/modules and sites/all/themes dir.
So surf on over and register with your groups.drupal.org user name. That way I know who you are. Then I can give you admin access.
This is a GREAT way to learn some cool stuff.
Delete Users via PHPmyadmin?
I have an install with several thousand users. I have many that I would like to delete based on certain characteristics of their user name. For example, delete any user account with a username "*xyz"
Is there a problem with deleting users via sql query rather than using drupal admin to do this? It would be a great time savings to do it via query, but I don't know if just deleting from the user table is enough/would cause any problems.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Read moreDrupal Theming with the color module
Hey guys,
I found this very interesting page for integrating the color module into your theme. http://drupal.org/node/108459
Has anyone tried this yet? I haven't had a chance to, but I can't wait to see what I can do with it. As soon as I can, I'll post it here. Just curious if anyone else is into this or not.
Anyone hiring?
I am about to finish my Masters in Chemistry at Purdue in the next month. I am curious about the possibility of pursuing a career in web/Drupal development. As I would like to stay in the Indiana area, I was wondering if anyone knows an Indiana business that's looking for a Drupal developer/themer. You can contact me via the contact form if you like. If this is an inappropriate place to post this, feel free to delete it.

Here are the notes from our Aug 7th meeting.
Alex and Eric were first time attendees. WELCOME!
I presented on PANELS for Drupal5. I used our group page as a demo then showed off my dentist's site.
We spent a brief time discussing D5 vs.D6 and marveled at so many modules coming out so quickly. I'm still waiting for Panels to come out.
We discussed TWITTER and I don't believe anyone got injured in the crossfire. There's a new post from Tonyv that explains the excitement over that.
CSS design stuff
Changing the design of a template through the CSS - tip
Folks,
You'll forgive me in advance for my obsession with design! And, for those of you already familiar with this little nugget of wisdom, I do not claim to be a wise man - or a nugget.
I am currently working hard to understand how to easily change a design within templates. Eventually to create new templates, or to simply (and drastically) change existing templates. I discovered something that drove me crazy for awhile. Now I am a much happier designer. Again, some of you may already know this...

Especially for PK's benefit, I thought I'd post this Twitter writeup I just happened upon. By the way, I'm with PK on this one. Why would I spend the time and effort on yet another social networking site? It gets to be too much after a while.
Having said that, I'm sure it must be very useful for some people. Maybe I'm just getting old!

Other suggestions are cool too.

Read moredrupal giordani IE6 css render
Hi folks,
I just discovered an odd occurrence and a fix if you are using the Giordani theme. This theme uses a very cool rotating banner at the top of every page. So, each time you navigate to a new page, new images show-up depending on what images are in the theme folder img/banners/ directory. However, the images do not show up in IE 6. The solution is to change two areas.
1) In the Giordani theme folder, you need to change the name of the banners/ directory to anything other than banners/. This is because Kaspersky firewall program in IE6 blocks the word "banners." Why? Who knows?
