Hey, Drupal Ninjas!
The Dojo has its own section in the Drupal Newsletter, but it's currently wide open. I think this would be a great regular feature, and could really use one or two regular editors who can keep up with things. Even if you don't want to do it regularly, however, but feel inspired for February, jump right in! It would be nice to feature a little history and Dojo who's who, but we are also looking for a summary of Dojo happenings in January/February, and what to look forward to in the months to come. (You have to be a subscriber to the Newsletter group if you want to see that post.)
Thanks,
Aaron Winborn

Highlight the help we need
Well I'd really like to highlight the work we are doing on Dojo 2.0 right now and plead for help. ;-) What is the deadline for this newsletter?
It would be great if someone in Dojo would step up and agree to be the point person to deal with the newsletter story on a monthly basis. I would volunteer but I am pretty overtaxed as is. If no one else pops up for the February newsletter in time, I will write something up because I think getting help for our current work is really important.

I'll step up
Probably noticed that I've been doing a lot of talking - and have taken the 'call to action' to the street.
The newsletter is a great way to document what we're doing and what we need. We do need a positive spin though, so forward motion is pretty key...

Draft deadline coming up
The deadline for our article is coming up on Feb. 15 so if you could at least get a draft of the Dojo article up on their group, that would be awesome. Then others can help out with editing. I won't have my Dojo Next Steps for Feb up until Tuesday but the rest of the article about what Dojo 2.0 is and why we are doing it is really what we need. Then we can have a general "help we need" type paragraph (talk about the various kinds of tasks - that it isn't just coding experience but all kinds of skills and also just people who want to leanr new skills) and then we can just link to the Next Steps post for details of what we need "right now."

Mid February
Awesome! We're aiming to get the newsletter out the third week of February. Ideally, we'll have it mostly written over the next two weeks, and we can spend the final week editing and polishing things.
Thanks.

what to do?
Sounds like there's a desperate need for intergalactic help here.
What to do?

Draft
Well if someone could take a first stab at a short draft article that just sort of answers these questions that would be great:
What is the Dojo?
What is Dojo 2.0?
Why are you doing Dojo 2.0?
What can I do to help?
Answers to these should be found in posts in the group. We have a tag for Dojo 2.0 so reading through those should give a good idea and really we just need a synopsis, it doesn't need to be some detailed thing. Once we get a basic draft it should be easier for other folks to chime in a revise/refine it and answer questions that may not be clear.

Some relevant posts
Here are some relevant posts/resource pages -
A bit more discussion on those threads might help us come to a more unified vision that people can get behind. Will also give us something more concrete to write about.

overwhelmed
Thanks for sharing these awesome links. However, I got myself dizzy with information overload. :p
Are there plans to streamline these Dojo concepts that hundreds of people now come to love?
Or if none, would there be a comparison chart of sorts, noting the difference bet. v1 and v2?
I know that I should do my homework, but reading hundreds of threads make me feel out of place (and dizzy) sometimes.
best regards,

While discussion is useful,
While discussion is useful, sometimes things just need to be done, otherwise discussions tend to go in circles or force progress to stand still. Especially if people aren't participating in the discussions anymore, someone just needs to do it and things can later be changed.
I threw something up in a
I threw something up in a short amount of time, please go take a look and edit as needed. I'll do another pass this weekend if that's still needed. I'd love to help out with the newsletter on a more regular basis when time permits, maybe a couple people could come together to do it so that it isn't all on one person's plate (sometimes I'm overly swamped between 3 kids and work).
Oh, we need more "What can I
Oh, we need more "What can I do to help?" if anyone has suggestions and a catchy tagline.
Nice work
Nice work so far Brenda, thanks! I'm working on the Next Steps post that will outline some specific tasks we will need to do in February. Once that is done, I'll put a brief summary in the new article as well as linking to the post.

Do we have a consolidated draft?
I definitely would like to help get this out, have some input/ideas, but would need a reference point.
