Is BADCamp 2011 the largest FREE Drupal event in the world?

Absolutely, and it's exciting! BADcamp 2011 had over 500 people register in the first week alone. Currently over 860 people have registered, we're six weeks away, and rumor has it there's enough space for many more.

OC Drupal is looking for presenters, discussion leaders (someone who leads a general discussion on specific topic), lightning talk presenters, or the like that are willing to volunteer for our Weds Sept 21st meetup. All ideas injected are welcome.

Any comments are welcome as well.

Organic Groups Privacy Module

Tonight's meeting had a question about making posts in organic groups private, and I stumbled upon a module that may work for it. The interesting trail to this module came from last night's LA Downtown Drupal meeting, and Christefano's presentation on the Issue queue and contributing pages. Christefano's post on an issue got a reply from grayside (DO handle), so I visited his profile, then his web site, http://grayside.org/ and found a possible tidbit for myself, and came across http://grayside.org/2010/08/kicking-og-privacy which uses the module at http://drupal.org/project/og_privacy

help me with shopping cart

I will appreciate a honest answer about this. I have a customer who wants a shopping cart , I am a newbie about shopping carts i consider myself a good developer in drupal not genius but a good one. i have read about ubercart and magento but posts are from 2010. I get 2 weeks to learn and setup a shopping cart . which it will be the best option UBERCART or MAGENTO? i read about magento is very complicated and hard to learn and UBERCART easy to those familiar with drupal . I do not want to get in trouble but deliver a good solution help me !

A new OC DRUPAL GDO

The Orange County Drupal (OC DRUPAL) groups.drupal (GDO) page has been revamped. Please check it out and provide any comments below.

For our Meetup.com members,the forum has been disactivated for now till it is reorganized for a meetup.com purpose if any. Please post support questions and discussions for the OC DRUPAL community on our GDO page for now.

Looking forward to having an awesome May meetup next month with community involvement!!

A challenge to the Los Angeles Drupal community!

In a previous thread, I mentioned my challenge to the Los Angeles Drupal community about ways for all of us to help both presenters & organizers alike avoid the dreaded 'B' word- burnout. I detail ways that we all, as a community, can step it up- which we need to do since word has come down from the LA Drupal Managers that only the Westside meetup is the "official/main" meetup & that they won't be providing official, logistical/managerial support for all of the other local groups that have sprung up in the last year (& are thriving!).
