Need some help developing my own custom theme!
Hey everyone!
So I've made some amazing headway thanks to some of the help I received on here from Steve Edwards! If you ever get the chance to work with him you'll be quite lucky as he's very patient, good at explaining things, and pretty well versed in Drupal. Anyways, he's been helping me through most of the issues I've been encountering, but as of lately has become really busy, this is where you all come in!

Following in Bill Fitzgerald's footsteps, I thought I'd mention here in the PDX group something I also posted on d.o. I belong to a search and rescue group here in the Portland area called Pacific Northwest Search & Rescue, and about a year ago, I redid the site in Drupal.

Hey guys,
I posted earlier but had no response. I'm really at a dead end for how the heck I place custom regions in my own theme.
All the documentation makes it appear extremely easy, which is wigging me out. I've not only read a multitude of documentaiton, I've grabbed other themes with multiple custom regions, and tried to mimick their code and not had much for luck. I must be seriously missing something basic though.

Hey everyone,
I've managed to make some excellent progress on my webpage thanks to help from some community members. Some of you may remember I asked about how to establish custom regions. I followed all of the basic instructions everywhere, even sat with some one and got the layout working perfectly... and then low and behold it would not work when put on my webhost. I did find a work around, which was to establish the regions by editing the engine code itself... which isn't ideal, but did in the end solve my problem.

Does anyone know of a local class/workshop on Drupal and web development basics? I've started developing a site for myself and quickly learned that I am way over my head. I'd be grateful for anyone who could point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Hey everyone, so I'm making some serious headway on this page, and it's getting closer and closer to being largely complete with all the functionality that I want! Here are some of the issues I am currently facing and would appreciate some advice on.
How do I get a menu link to automatically place the month (10 above) and day (12 above)?
Read moreHow do I make items sort by taxonomy term and by newest post date in Views?
I am just learning how to use views because I need to make a page that shows a bunch of items and I need to have a couple different views available to to user. I need to show the items by newest post date and I need to be able to split them up in to separate categories by taxonomy term. Ideally, on the categories end I would like the page to split in half and show one category on top and the other on the second half of the page. So far I just have a gridview that shows everything.
Can you guys give me some pointers?
Thanks,
Becky
