Nov-Dec Front-end Drupal Meetup Canceled
I was already planning on canceling the Dec meetup for the Holidays, and now the Drupal 8 release party is on our normal day, thus we will be canceling our two remaining meet-ups for this year.
Also, starting next year we will be changing the layout of the Front End Drupal meetups to be more of a Front-End/Site Builders meetup. More on that in January, have a happy holidays.

Drupal 8 Release Party
Hey everyone!
DID YOU HEAR THE NEWS? https://www.drupal.org/node/2605142
Today the core maintainers announced that 19 November will be the official release date for Drupal 8. I obviously believe we need to have a party to celebrate. We don't have a ton of time to organize, but I can devote some Association staff resources (ok, my time) to help plan, so I figured we should start here and see what you guys want to do.

Join us for the October edition of Brewpal! On the fourth Tuesday of each month, we get together to work on projects, ask questions of our fellow Drupalers and have a pint.
As you may know, this year we've been rotating the venue of the Brewpal meetup. The criteria includes free wi-fi, a large public spaaaaaace that's family friendly, bar service (rather than table service), all while being close-in and easy to get to by public transit. This month (October 27th), Brewpal will take place at Bunk Bar Water at 1028 SE Water Ave.

We are moving the date of the Front-end meetup since this month is would be the day after the normal DUG meetup.
Last month we talked about modern Drupal 7 development practices. This month we will be talking about Reactjs. I will go over what it is, what it does, how it works, and we can discuss incorporating it into a Drupal 8 website.
We will have pizza, just like last time.

Join us for the July edition of Brewpal! On the fourth Tuesday of each month, we get together to work on projects, ask questions of our fellow Drupalers and have a pint.

The criteria includes free wi-fi, a large public space that's family friendly, bar service (rather than table service), all while being close-in and easy to get to by public transit. August PDX User Group -- Lightning Talks
Come out to the Metal Toad offices (522 SW 5th Ave.) this Wednesday for the August Drupal user group meetup.
This month we'll have Lightning Talks. If you choose, come prepared to talk for anywhere from zero to 5 minutes max on a subject somehow related to Drupal. The idea is to fit as many different topics into the meetup time that we can. No time to go into any depth, we just power through!
Anything Drupal is fair game -- a cool module or theme you recently tried out... a nifty thing you learned about Drupal 8... a quick demo of a site you just launched... you get the idea!
