This is a local user group for sharing knowledge about Drupal and networking with other folks in the greater Seattle web/tech community.
SeaDUG meets monthly to talk about Drupal, to plan related events, and to socialize. During SeaDUG meetings we showcase modules and projects, share tips and tricks, and answer nagging questions about Drupal.
We welcome participants from all skill levels and all disciplines related to website building and development - marketers, project managers, developers, designers, writers, devops, user researchers, QA, and more.

Read moreAny bootstrap mavens here?
I'm exploring using the bootstrap theme and while it runs fine in default mode I have run into a snag implementing the local version that is not served by a CDN. I've followed the installation docs as best I can, and have pursued various issues in the queue but nothing I've done gets bootstrap to see the CSS files when CDN is turned off. Anyone out there with knowledge of how it is supposed to work that could help? Thanks.
Read moreSub-theme of Sub-theme? Best Practice advice sought.
I've been playing with a distribution that includes Zen and a Zen sub-theme. I wrote some custom tpl and css files and then in a moment of sheer stupidity upgraded the distribution. Of course my custom files were wiped out in the upgrade and of course I had not archived them in Git. No real harm done because it was a sandbox-type project but it begs the question which I hereby pose to you: is it possible to create a sub-theme of a sub-theme? Is doing so a good practice or not? How does one, and should one, upgrade a distribution without overwriting any modifications?

Another question from the noob, ignore if not interested.
I finally got tired of the lag time associated with developing on a remote host (arvixe) and decided to re-host on my laptop. I exported the database from mysql on arvixe, ftped (binary) to my laptop, and imported it into mysql there. I did a fresh drupal installation on a dummy database (which came up fine) and changed settings.php to point to the ported database.

Questions about the Rules module
Hi,
First off, if people don't want me asking technical questions here just let me know and I'll stop, I've been posting elsewhere without much response.
I realize people are getting ready for the Drupal Summit, but I have a couple of questions about the Rules module if anyone has any spare bandwidth.
I have a content type called Event, which has a begin date and an end date. I'm trying to create a rule so that every time a user saves an Event the rule checks all other events to see if the new Event overlaps with any of the other Events that have been entered into the system.

Read morecck block question from the noob
Hi,
I'm trying to display an image in a block and the cck block module sounds like one of the preferred methods.
I've created a content type with an image field, enabled the Provide block for this field option (provided by the cck module), created some content based on that content type and assigned the resulting cck field to a block.
The only page that I'm seeing the cck field show up on is the url that I assigned to the content when I created it, how do I get it to show up on other pages (specifically the front page)?
