October Santa Cruz Drupal User Group Meeting - Nextspace 6pm to 9pm (Tuesday October 1, 2013)
The October SCDUG will be Tuesday October 1st from 6pm to 9pm at Nextspace. Note the earlier time for those who can come early. If you can't come early, come whenever you can.
We will do a D8 (core and/or contrib) sprint this time. You do not need to know how to code to sprint. You can test patches and try out D8 and find/report bugs :)
Paul suggested that some of us could port small contrib modules from D7 to D8. We could work on some of the Examples modules for this or whatever your favorite small D7 module is that you want to port.

Hi All,
I am wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction here.
I would like to create a node/page/block/whatever that does the following:
For the sake of simplicity, there are 3 drop down menus. Each menu would have a list of data that is pre-defined. You would see the alpha numeric value only in the drop down, but the items in parenthesis are the values the user would see after they select the initial value and select Go.

Hi all,
The August meeting with be Tuesday August 6th. Topics? Presenters? Leave a comment :)
We are open to relevant non-Drupal topics too. Julia mentioned talking about Compass sprites.
If no one has anything, I could go over the Privatemsg module. It uses entities in D7 and has a patch for Views integration.

Hi fellow group members.
I have a referral partner that normally passes Drupal work to me, but today he presented a couple of odd requests, so I thought I'd reach out to the group and see if anyone's interested in taking some non-Drupal work on.

Best Californian companies
Hi.
I am thinking about moving into California(from Europe) and I am curious about which California based companies are the best ones to work for? I'm more interested in full service advertising afencies rather than just companies specialized on websites(pure Drupal shops). Also I'm more interested in companies with more than 50 employees(I've worked for small companies and want a change of environment).
Which companies would you recommend?

Why do you go to Drupal Camps?
I go to Drupal camps because I know that if I learn one new thing or meet one cool person who's willing to share their experiences with me, then it was a successful use of my time. Whatever I learn doesn't even have to be Drupal related, the point is I'm a wiser person for having immersed myself into the community. I organize Drupal camps because I want others to have that same opportunity, and it's rewarding for me to see people get together and share their brilliant ideas and work.
So, why do you go to Drupal Camps (big, small, local, international)?
