I propose to implement/integrate OpenID Attribute Exchange with Drupal. OpenID Attribute Exchange is a service extension for OpenID. OpenID Attribute Exchange allows identity information exchange between endpoints, i.e, it allows or rather is a way of transferring information about the user between the OpenID provider and relying party . Using the OpenID Attribute Exchange, identity information can be stored and retrieved using fetch and store messages respectively.

Hi,
I'd like to present an idea for the 2008 google summer of code (and in a more general way an idea for Drupal).
The idea is about using flat files instead of a database. After googling a little, it seems that the idea is not new (http://drupal.org/node/124353 and http://drupal.org/node/216485). However, it seems that no visible results are here now.

I am a user of Remember the milk, Google Calendar, and Drupal. This is what I want to propose for my GSoC application, please feel free to comment, I would like to get feedback.

Based on the Refactor revisions to use a version control system proposal changed, I post this proposal.
The problem
Core only allows the first user that sumbit the node form to save the changes; so the others have to see the saved node again and manually make the changes, hoping no other user save it before he does it. Clearly, it's a really slow way to make a contributed document.

Would be a tremendous opportunity for Drupal if we can assemble a small team on this in a hurry.
Btw, please make this a secondary priority over reviewing student applications. Those are due Monday too. :)

themer module integrating into existing firebug firefox extension can put themer module out of JS and will give it a cool UI, it will help theme developers a lot.
Firebug helps in examining & editing webpages as a integrated part of Firefox, we can edit, debug, and monitor CSS, HTML, and JavaScript live in any web page. it is a really very good extension much needed by every web developer,

Ok, this is going to get me into trouble, but nevertheless:
Christian Weilbach, long-time KDE developer, has posted a lengthy critique of Google's intentions with the GSoC on his blog (which is running on Drupal, btw). The lack of paragraph usage makes it a bit hard to read, hopefully that'll be fixed soon, but nonetheless I find it very worth the read, even if one doesn't necessarily need to agree with his point of view.
Read moreIndividual User/Group Stores Standalone Module/plugin for Ubercart or E-Commerce
I am suggesting for a module which allows for individuals/group admin with certain roles to create/run a store and accept payments through user/group specific payment gateways.
Example of uses:
- An NGO might start a group on a social site, and want to sell merchandise to raise funds, they simply create a group store.
- a Musician might want to sell his mp3 files on the social site. He can simply purchase a role, for a one-off charge and setup an online store for his music, pictures or event tickets.
[Final] Views plugins to output node lists as XML/RDF/JSON/XHTML
Abstract
This is a proposal to extend Views with the goal of enabling Drupal semantic data sharing and interop out-of-the-box by writing views style-plugins that can spit out node lists as XML, OPML, RDF, JSON, and XHTML.

For example if you created a view with a list of events and details, you could with one click generate a page containing events in the hCalendar microformat or as items in Exhibit JSON format. Similarly lists of user profiles could be output as FOAF profiles in RDF or in the XHTML hCard format. Lists of forum posts could be output as RDF documents using the SIOC vocabulary. Or a simple list containing books from a personal book collection could be output as OPML. This idea is motivated by the accelerating activity around Semantic Web data sharing. The ultimate realization of this idea would be to enable a Drupal site operator to share datasets from her site already constructed through the Views UI in one of several open and reusable formats based on XML, XHTML or JSON, which would be consumable by other Web agents.
Personalised Content Recommendation
I want to develop an automatic recommendation module.

Would like to see this built with cck fields. The current blogroll module is out of date (4.6) the SoC project should provide a Drupal 5, 6 version..

Here is my proposal based on the Google Contact API Integration topic. All commentaries and doubts are more then welcome.
Project Description:
This proposal is based on a suggestion by Eaton posted on Groups.Drupal about Google Summer of Code 2008.
Drupal is a content platform that allow individuals, organizations and communities to express themselves and organize their knowledge and ideas. It has a wide range of uses thanks to a large number of extra features provided by add-on modules, which makes Drupal great for social applications, such as social networks and forums.
