Tools to Help Coordinate and Fund Community Initiatives: The Snowball Code Sprint
Thanks to the leadership of Allie Micka and R.J. Steinert, the Snowball initiative to provide tools for coordinating and funding Drupal initiatives is coming to the Boston area this long weekend for its first code sprint.
We will focus on building a working alpha so we have something real to share for feedback, to refine, and to build process, message, and governance around.
We'll be working on Friday November 11th, Saturday the 12th, and Sunday the 13th starting at 10am on Friday and no later than that on the weekend days in Somerville, Massachusetts.

There will be two skype kick-off calls of about 30 min each on Friday, April 8. One at 8 am EDT and one at 3 pm 4 pm EDT (hopefully that will span enough timezones). Join IRC before hand and share your skype name there to be called in.

Apache Solr Search Integration virtual sprint
We are planning a virtual sprint focused on implementing new feature for the 7.x version, as well as stabilizing it and moving towards an RC release.
Additional work may begin on a 6.x-3.x branch.

DrupalMedia.org Launched for the Sprint!
As a supplement to the Media group, I launched Drupal Media today to help with the ongoing Media sprint efforts. On its front page, you'll see a map to the next sprint (which is at Mansueto - 7 World Trade Ctr, New York, NY this Friday-Saturday, October 23-24, from 9-5). Tabs are also available for discussions (add your own), videos, and a feed to the Media module issue queue. Please give me any feedback or desired functionality that would be useful for the site. (Including long-term plans for the useful domain, contributed by the good folks at Development Seed.)
Don't forget that you have to pre-register if you plan to come to the sprint, with your full name. Hope to see you there, or at #drupal-media in IRC!
