Join us for our monthly meetup where we'll be looking ahead at the new goodies coming in Drupal 6. I'll provide an overview of both the API changes as well as the new features - with demos! Drupal 6 is in code freeze now, so it's time to start looking ahead and getting excited for what should be another killer Drupal release this fall!
Greetings Bay Area Druplers,
Our next meeting will be Wed, August 22nd, Noon-1:30 at UC Berkeley (as usual)
Looks like our topic for this month will be Views + CCK. Sadly, there are still some folk out there who are not familiar with the raw power that these two modules bring to Drupal. Dmitri, our local views expert, will give a demonstration, and we will also like to demo how to solve a couple of specific, interesting use cases (if you would like to lead a demo/presentation, let me know).Read more
I've recently learned of a 3rd Drupaller in my area so it seems now would be an appropriate time to put together a Drupal User Group for southwestern Idaho. (When it was just two, it didn't make sense to organize meetings since I sit across the room from the other guy!)
Dries (Drupal's project lead) recently made a post to Drupal.org seeking for info about best practices for local user groups. A number of folks have posted comments there. Perhaps that would be a good place for us to start, in considering what we want this group to do/be.Read more
Expect the same onShore atmosphere as past meet ups. Projector will be available, free wifi, and laptops are encourage. All skills levels are welcomed and we order pizza. Come show off your Drupal projects. Lots of free public parking, just outside of the Chicago Loop. Join our chat session if you can not attend.

Based on some discussion on the mailing list, I thought we could spend some time this month looking at the site customization secret weapon : hook_form_alter (and it's _alter relatives). There are some pretty powerful ways you can alter core behaviours without having to hack a single line of core code.
Also, we'd love to see some show and tell, so bring yer best hacks / tricks or design :)
That's not all! July 10th happens to be my 30th birthday, so you're all invited to join us afterwards for drinks an good times. See you then!
It's that time again ladies and gents.. The June Sacramento/Davis DUG will be this Thursday at River City Brewing Company.
We'll be there at 6:30 PM. Hope to see everyone!
Sorry for the late notice folks, but we will be getting together tomorrow night at the Linuxcaffe. There is no fixed agenda for this month, but come on out, meet some new local drupal folks - interesting discussion is bound to ensue.
Potential topics include: Upcoming stuff in Drupal 6, "best of" DrupaCampTorontoII, and the ever popular CCK & Views :)
Greeting East Bay Drupalers,
Last month we went with an extended Q&A period since there were so many brand new folk. I would love to have a bit more presentation time this month, so let me know if you have a great idea for a presentation.
Food - Dan can't make it this month, but if someone volunteers to bring pizza & drinks, Civic Actions will reimbursement them.

I live in the commerce, mi area and was wondering if anyone lives around this area that I can car pool with to the meetings. I have a 1980 CJ-7 Jeep so it's not very trustworthy for driving for distances. I would be willing to pay for gas, it's just I don't want to drive down there and have my jeep crap out on me.
