Join us for our monthly meetup where we'll be looking ahead at the new goodies coming in Drupal 6. I'll provide an overview of both the API changes as well as the new features - with demos! Drupal 6 is in code freeze now, so it's time to start looking ahead and getting excited for what should be another killer Drupal release this fall!

Looks like our topic for this month will be Views + CCK. Sadly, there are still some folk out there who are not familiar with the raw power that these two modules bring to Drupal. Dmitri, our local views expert, will give a demonstration, and we will also like to demo how to solve a couple of specific, interesting use cases (if you would like to lead a demo/presentation, let me know).

Expect the same onShore atmosphere as past meet ups. Projector will be available, free wifi, and laptops are encourage. All skills levels are welcomed and we order pizza. Come show off your Drupal projects. Lots of free public parking, just outside of the Chicago Loop. Join our chat session if you can not attend.

Based on some discussion on the mailing list, I thought we could spend some time this month looking at the site customization secret weapon : hook_form_alter (and it's _alter relatives). There are some pretty powerful ways you can alter core behaviours without having to hack a single line of core code.

Also, we'd love to see some show and tell, so bring yer best hacks / tricks or design :)

That's not all! July 10th happens to be my 30th birthday, so you're all invited to join us afterwards for drinks an good times. See you then!
