Hey Drupalers,

I was talking with some of Bradley's IT higher-ups as part of a portal project that my students are helping skin. Once mentioned that our university webmaster was looking at Drupal, and I immediately began to espouse the benefits of Drupal. (Several of the Slane College sites use Drupal, with several more on the way.)

I mentioned that I'd be willing to help them plan such an implementation, and then someone asked if I could show a few people around Drupal, and maybe do a little training.

In the spirit of the Drupal community, I asked if Bradley could instead sponsor a DrupalCamp. My contacts in IT seemed very receptive to the idea, and said that we could get some labs and some food. We also have a few local multimedia shops who might be able to sponsor anything else that was needed. Bradley has a wireless campus, A/V equipment, and nice labs.

Starting to plan the DCC. For those in other g.d.o groups please pass the word along if you haven't seen any info there yet. Also we will be holding on-line IRC (freenode.net: #cdmug) chats every Monday night from 8PM - 12 Midnight up till the event. Please participate and help plan another great MidWest DrupalCamp. CDMUG will be posting updates as DCC takes shape.

CDMUG will continue hosting smaller events at onShore with an RSVP limit of 15. In addition to onShore, we have decided to host 2 larger events at locations to be announced. These larger events dubbed "CDMUG Venti" will aim to attract 30 members.

KarenS who just organized a Drupal User Group, in Central IL, gave a presentation to it's founding members explaining a much improved CCK for the D6 release. CDMUG took notes and posted them to share with the Drupal community - check out our milestone 100th node post. ;-)

Looking for an experienced Drupal developer to complete enhancements to a musical gear-oriented content site. Work would involve customizing existing modules, bug fixes, and other specific changes. Specs are already defined for the remainder of the work (previous developer moved to California and took another job). Probably another 40-80 hours of work remains; developer would be required to spend some or all time on-site. Potential for ongoing freelance work exists. We're located in downtown Chicago, with easy access to and from public transportation.

We are looking for a dev with a solid skill set, willing to aid in grass roots site development. We currently need a site audit, theme dev and module modifications. I have installed and configured the framework, but my focus is in branding and not so much coding. Judging by the power of drupal and availability of component modules, this should be a walk in the park for most devs.
