Moving Sites built on MultiSite to work with Domain Access

Hi,

we're in the process of moving our main site to Drupal and was intending on using multisite. We've already move one smaller site over doing just that, and will be moving another over soon.

Now our manager really likes the idea of sharing content across all sites, which I was guessing would mean using the Domain Module.

How hard is it, or more specifically, what would be the process of moving sites that each have their own database to use Domain Access, since what i understand is, it uses one database for all sites.

Do you need an .htaccess file to run a multisite

This is my first ever attempt at making a multisite, and before I started, the documentation made it seem pretty easy to do (I'm using Drupal 7).
We already have a working Drupal site, but we now want to make it a multisite. I've gone through the instructions a few times and it will not work for me.
(I am trying to make a multisite on the same domain: www.example.com/site1, www.example.com/site2...)

During the initial install, we had to remove the .htaccess file to allow Drupal to work on our server. Not sure why (this was before I started this position),

Multisite on Drupal 7

Hi,

I was wondering if any one could share how they've gotten D7 with clean urls and mutisite working in Lighttpd? Any success with out LUA? The most relevant documentation that I can find is here:
http://benclark.com/archive/201006/how-to-run-multisite-drupal-on-lighttpd

However it's still not working for me, I have custom .conf files for each domain, so I'm not sure if I should just edit the main domain .conf, or create separate .conf's for each multisite?

Thanks!

Drupal 7 multi-site subdirectory wrong site

I'm working on a Drupal 7 multi-site setup. I have the following:

mydomain.gov <- default site
mydomain.gov/department1 <- site1
mydomain.gov/department2 <- site2

I've created the appropriate folders in my sites folder, copied the default.settings.php file to each folder as settings.php and setup the new site.
mydomain.gov.department1
mydomain.gov.department2

When I visit mydomain.gov/ i get the default site, when I visit mydomain.gov/department1 i get that sites home page. However when I visit mydomain.ca.gov/department1/sub-page I get a not found message from my default site.

BIG problem after migration to the delicated server

Hi,

I just migrated my 2 sites to delicated servers and I have a big problem with multisiting. When I empty the cache evrything is fine, but when I visit site 1 and 2, all the images and data (menu, not the nodes) are mixed!

Before I was with Bluehost and 2 domain (main domain and addon domain).
My Drupal was in /site directory and addon domain was fowarted to /site derectory directly.
Everything worked just fine.

Now I have a delicated server with virtual servers.

Virtual server 1:
SuexecUserGroup mysite1 mysite1
ServerName mysite1.com
ServerAdmin admin@mysite1.com

Solr Multisite Search

Hi There,
This regards http://drupal.org/project/apachesolr_multisitesearch
I'm trying to enable Multisite Search Facets (based on Taxonomies) for a few sites - the 'normal' multisite facets such as 'filter by site', 'current search' etc appear fine but facets based on Taxonomies do not appear not matter what I do. The facets are enabled & the blocks added to regions, caches cleared etc.

Tested in Drupal Core 6.20 with the latest stable version of Apache Solr & Apache Solr Multisite Search

Has anyone else successfully enabled this functionality?

Any help greatly appreciated

Updates Not Working When Drupal is Configured in Subdirectory

I'm currently redirecting the home page of my site to the Drupal (7) site that I have set up in a subdirectory of my root. It appears that this configuration makes it difficult to run updates from the administrator UI (as opposed to manually updating via my CPanel file manager). I'm not terribly familiar with this kind of in-depth site configuration trouble shooting... Does anyone have suggestions as to what files (if any) need to be adjusted to allow Drupal to run as if it were in the root directory (thus avoiding problems like this in general).

When Is Multisites Advantages and When is it not

I'm currently in the process of developing a site that I though may be a candidate for a multisite configuration, but I'm not certain. Basically I will ultimately be creating a number of subsites based on geographic location (something in the realm of how craigslist does it). There will potentially be quite a few nodes. Since individuals will come to the site to view info specific to a location, I though for the sake of database size, it might make sense to split it up. I guise to cut to the chase, I'm wondering what the advantages are based on my critera.
