I'd love to get some comments from Australians on the election platform I've put forward in my campaign to get on the Board of the Drupal Association.

Hi everyone,
With the unfortunate cancellation of DrupalCon Sao Paolo, the focus will be shifting firmly to DrupalCon Sydney in February 2013 (http://sydney2013.drupal.org), so here's a few things to prepare for:
- Session submissions are already open, and there's been a fantastic initial response from local and international applicants. The deadline is Friday October 26, so there's six weeks to get your submission in at http://sydney2013.drupal.org/sessions
Creating a PDF copy of eNewsletter
Any one have any more common sense suggestions:
I have a website that has been running for a while, and once a week subsubscribers are sent an email newsletter, the content of which is a specific node type, made up of a series of EVA (Entity Views Attachment) views. These EVA views take the most recent x nbr of posts from different categories with differing filters. All working well.
But the nature of the newsletter is that the node does not "snapshot" content, it just presents the last news at the point in time it is emailed to the subscription list.

Hi,
Does anyone have any experience implementing address verification on user registration forms?
It seems the go is to utilise a 3rd party tool.
I've found a recommendation for http://www.qas-experian.com.au/address-verification-for-websites.htm
Is this the best way to go?
Has anyone had any experience with QAS Experian or a similar service?
Thanks!

Hi everyone!
This is the first post from our DrupalCon Sydney profile to provide you with regular updates on the event in the lead up to February 6-9, 2013.
DrupalCon Sydney was announced on stage at DrupalCon Munich yesterday, and we launched the full event website concurrently at http://sydney2013.drupal.org
Event details
The site has all general information about the program, venue, accommodation and registration, and tickets will go on sale within the next few weeks, so please sign up to the newsletter so you can be notified as soon as they're released. There's a strict limit of 400 tickets, so make sure you get in early, as it will definitely sell out.
As far as we know, this is the first big website on the new COD 7 distribution, so please let us know if you find any bugs!
Sponsorship
A big thanks to our launch sponsors, and if you're a Drupal services company or organisation that's benefited from Drupal being free, this is a great way to give back financially and gain recognition from the community. Full details at http://sydney2013.drupal.org/sponsor-information
Noob building a SaaS platform
Wondering if anyone has some advice as to options/routes:
I have been developing a prototype website (Drupal 7) application. It's not very complicated, but tailored at a specific business niche.
Originally, I was going to offer as an additional website to some of my existing clients - I think I just assumed I would use the prototype as a template and create a new standalone website each time I needed too....
How do you charge for project management?
Hi guys,
Just wondering, how does everyone else charge for their project management hours? We are wavering between a few different methodologies, from a flat percentage on a project to trying to actually count the exact time spent per client, but it'd be useful to know what other people out there do as well, maybe there's a really clever solution to it that our little company hasn't been able to work out yet.

Thank you all for attending the Drupal as a Career, Drupal as a Business night. The night recived great reviews and provided insightful tips about how people started their careers and also about the larger Drupal eco-system.
I have been asked to provide a link to the presentations on the night and belive drupal.org is a better place to share this information then just on meet-up.com.
Read moreCash Back Voucher
My client wants to offer cash back vouchers to in-store purchases.
Ideally, the voucher is redeemed online by completing a feedback form.
I have looked at a number of Australian based merchant facilities, and none offer a way to pay the redeemer in cash.
PayPal Adaptive Payments looks like it may work.
Has anyone else built a system to give cash back?
I would appreciate any feedback on this concept and if Adaptive payments is my only option?
Regards
Martin Camp
