Role and User Access Control
I eventually want to hunt for someone to do development on this idea, but first I'd like to find out how it can be designed to be of greatest benefit to the community.
I want to be able to manage access to a node, with CCK fields. The node should be viewable by both a role and at least a single (ideally multiple) user(s) not in the role.

Do you know of a module that would/could tie a user profile to a CCK created content-type?
Here's our problem: we are moving away from CiviCRM (don't get me started with the issues). Can we tie a particular content-type (or multiple content-types) through the use something like the Subforms modules to user profiles? Can we then let user creation spawn two records-- a user record; and a new node coupled to the user record? Then the content node could be used in isolation; or the user account could be edited later and those changes would alter the associated node?
Drupal loves OpenSocial?
Hello there,
I'm a student Communication Multimedia Design - currently doing a graduation investigation and project about the "Integration of social networking sites in Drupal".
Investigation
My investigation brings me first to a technical question: which current (Drupal 5) modules give an answer to this question?
I did an investigation and found 19 contributed modules that make integration possible for content coming from a typical social networking site into Drupal.
- Activity Stream
- Advogato
- Delicious
- Digg this
- Embedded Media Field
Graduation project about integration of social networking sites in Drupal + new module
(sorry for this rather late posting)
Hello Drupal community,
Who am I?
I'm a 24 year old Belgian student communication multimedia design. I'm a webdesigner, with more graphical skills than technical.
This (scholar) year I combine a 4/5 job with my graduation project.

Read moreUser Service Module - Upload/Change User Picture
I am using Flex 2.0 and AMFPHP to access Drupal user services, and it has been going pretty smoothly. I've managed to create a couple simple user services on my own.
However, I am currently attempting to expand the user service module to allow uploading / changing the user picture. I am have more difficulty with this.
The following is my first stab at this and it doesn't work. I am hoping someone could point me in the right direction! Thanks!
function user_service_image( $source ) {
$info = image_get_info($source);
$file = file_check_upload( $source );
if ($file){

Read moreUsing CCK taxonomy fields to tag users or Tagging nodes like the profile module does
I love the way you can use a phrase like "People who live in %" using the regular Drupal profile module and then by clicking the link, get a list of all users who live in %. I'm trying to get the same thing happening with profiles as nodes. I've tried using CCK taxonomy fields in both the Node Profiles and the Bio Modules. It almost works, but only intermittantly. Sometimes I get the message "There are currently no posts in this category ..." other times, some users will show up and others won't - even when they have been tagged with the the term.
Read moreUSER location in Views??
Hey together!
Is there any current development inprogress to integrate USER location-data in views?
The great location_views module does an excellent job regarding the integration of node-locations ... however, often you (well, at least i ;) need to integrate - and later proximity-search - the location of the user who posted the content.
Example: a Skill- or Equipmepment-Database build with CCK, location and views, where Skill- or Equipment-nodes are added by each user and listet/searched via a view. There you need to display and proximity-search for the user's location - not a node-specific location (since not a single skill or equipment has a - maybe changing! - location, but it's user).
Image Gallery Per User
Does anyone know an easy way to create a gallery per user?
There is the arbitrary "My Images" which gets all the image for the current user, but I'd like to extend that to allow image_pub to sandbox users into their own sets of galleries.
Dirty hack here might be a way forward - http://drupal.org/node/86489 but its pretty dirty....
Before I start hacking around and making a mess of things, does anyone have any pointers or ideas?
Thanks,
-Mack
